You consider Swift Diesel pricing competitive? The car attracts 16% excise, not 24% that its petrol sibling attracts.

I do feel that it is competitive. Actually we dont have many comparison point but look at Getz CRDI. Good car but priced abysmally.

Regarding the excise advantage, I think that is offset by the royalty MUL pays to Fiat for the engine.

@Amit: This pic is taken almost at the same angle as the spy pic. And I am sure the Tiida looks a lot better in person than in this pic.

Oops,if Maruti/Suzuki has aspirations to sell this outside India, won't it get into IPR issues ? The boot is not inspired, it seems to be a straight lift from the Nissan Tiida sedan.

Tyres look like an Aveo and rear looks like an Indigo and Maruti looks like its caught in a firepower between the GM and Tata

Are we being a bit narrow- minded?

Just now my mom saw the pic. While i justed hated the looks, she was saying it looks 'better' than the rear of the Swift.

Coming to think of it- Swift was never appreciated for rear looks!

This is what you get when you cross a Swift with an Ambassador. That is what it looks like to me. The Swiftador.

Default Inspirations?

Check out the following for more inspirations :-) Dont tell me the car is an SX4 - The car is known as Tosca and is sold in S. Korea under GM name. I dont want to tell if the second car is inspired 'from' or 'by' (most probably the former) - <<_________ (fill up the blanks)>>
I dont want to tell the name of the car because, I want to know if I am the only one who thinks so!

Swift Sedan looks quiet good according to me or at least better luxury feel compared with indigo/Logan. I truely feel it will be just feeling because of aggressive pricing Maruti cars come with cheap material (even Swift or SX4) according to me.

Maruti cars known for economy so people who want economy entry level Sedan will opt for Swift Sedan. Its Diesel version would definately give great competition for sure!

Once launched we will know exact details.

Regards,

Ravi.

While it looks a tad ungainly for sure, I would go so far as the rest of you do. Lets just agree to disagree and call it quirky.

I do hope this is the real McCoy, it would speak volumes for the forum!

Check out the actual swift sedan. It doesn't look very different from its hatch version.

The Car is First photo is 'GM Daewoo TOSCA', but the second one in 'Daewoo Magnus' for Korean market. The production of this car has been stopped in Korea few years ago(TOSCA replaced this car). Magnus was sold in US under the badge of Suzuki Verona.
Looks like the Pictures were taken in Suwon, South Korea! am I right ?
