You know what? I thought the same when I looked at this yesterday. This morning, when I passed a SX4 from a little distance, I saw that the shutlines (rear door) were quite noticeable on the SX4 as well! Maybe its the angle one looks at it from?

Just pop into your nearest TATA dealer and look at the Safari, esp. where the front door meets the B Pillar- you will take your words back

Analyzed the Picture in our lab. Its not photoshop edited. Its an orginal photo taken on a 24bit CCD cam (Mostly a Sony erric Mobile cam)

And about the gap, the camera is in right angle with the shutter gap, which the most visible angle of any gap present. Normally we will look at the shutter gap perpendicular to the car. So its not that evident. For example see the front door gap which you feel is much lesser compared to the back door... Add to that the mobile cam produced a fringe effect at the edges where the contrast (Body color white - no light gap black) is very high.

Is that a swift or sx4?

if that one is not sx4 means its not photoshop edited.

BTW the person, who posted the pics do work in photoshop.

Where is he?

Hmmm. That explains the door panel gaps. So, now the only question remaining would be-

Would it look any better from other angles?

Question Beige interiors?

Don't think anybody noticed till now-

See the rear headrests? I think its beige coloured. Swift has all black upholstery. Is this going to have beige interiors then?

Looks real to me ..

anyways now i have an obvious doubt..where will they place this car ?

i always had an impression that SX4 is the sedan version of swift.. now they are coming up with another new version all together

easy to manufacture on assembly line though..lots of reuse isnt it

But any guesses.. which price range it will fall into ?

any chances of Swift prices being slashed for accomodating this vehicle(which i think is highly unlikely)

or perhaps this car is only meant for exports...
any more guesses guys ?

To all those folks who say the Swift sedan looks ulgy as seen here - please try to see indigo (front profile, side profile , rear pofile(yuck-taillamps),quality of materials used - if we indians can accept an indigo in all its avatars and make it a hit, swift sedan is much much better looking undoubtedly. at least it looks like a sedan, not a welded peice of boot!

You must be talking about the first version of Indigo. Look at the current one it is much better looking than the firt version, though still not 100% there. Have you guys seen Indigo XL, in creamish/peach color. It really is head turner, though the overall proportions are still not there.
Regdarding swift sedan, from this angle, it is looking more like Sx4, rest of the views will allow to come a final conclusion. So far I would say, not that bad, espicially when you are replacing esteem with this.

Isn't the dashboard also different from the normal Swift one?

Manoj, are the pics which you have the same as the one posted here on this thread?

This should help you in posting pics here on the forum :
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/announ...-team-bhp.html

Do post the pics which you have. Would be great to view the car from another angle.

The theory about shut line on the rear door, about it being at right angle looks like bad theory. It looks too huge a gap and the way the door is shaped at the top (where it meets the roof line) is crap.
It should be a bad PS or maruti have come up with some horrible body design.

As Justin Timberlake would say: "I'm bringing ugly back, them other boys they don't know how to act".
I know a bit cheesy. But can they make anything uglier than this?

I dont think its PS job the pic looks very much authentic. As for the looks just this view wont do complete justice. But yes it looks the same when we first saw the Indigo.
If this is indeed something that MSIL intends to launch then IMHO its success will be determined by the price range in which it is launched because as of now it doesn't have any good entry level sedan especially with aging Esteem rumored to have been out of production.

This could very well be an Esteem replacement especially since Swift & SX4 are hugely successful (even when some are not liking their looks)
