Nope I think the F8 D. Alto (10L units), M800, Omni and I think the block was also used on the Daewoo Matiz.

Default Launch of fiat palio 1.3MJD

Seems that the launch is getting postponed by 2-3 months. This is what the Manipal motors representative from Bangalore just informed me.

The DICOR isnt crude even if you consider DDiS, I was pleasantly surprised when I drove her for the first time. Its a refined, sedate engine... though not as punchy as the DDiS.

Totally! The CRDI price went up another 10k or so with no additional utility offered.

What about the guys who decided the Swift VDi pricing

After Maruti, Hyundai India is India's largest car maker that has just doubled its production capacity from 3 lac per annum to 6 lacs per annum. It certainly doesn't qualify for the title 'also ran'.

Default Looks like FIAT has still not woken up to the opportunity

I had written to FIAT directly, to a guy called Ricky Walter who handles sales and this is what i got....still not committed date...........Looks like we should just boycott FIAT and then perhaps they will wake up. Treating us like s*** What say you guys.....
-------------------------------------------
First my mail.........

Hi Rick

I got your email ID from the FIAT Palio Users group. And am writing to you to address a specific issue.

Having been a lifelong FIAT fan, we had paid the down payment for a 1.1 SLX (though we secretly aspire for the Grande Punto) in August 2007 !!
But on a little introspection on ourselves, we had asked Concorde Motors, Chennai, where we had made the booking, to hold it until the Palio 1.3 MJD was here. And transfer our booking to it.
We have been waiting every since....

In the absence of any confirmation coming from the dealer, I take this opportunity to request your goodself to thrown light on when the much awaited 1.3 will hit the showrooms. I would be reitrating the obvious when I say there are atleast 600 odd people on different forums who are equally eager.

Pray, could you lay to rest with finality as to the actual date when the same will be in the showroom so that fans like us will have an answer for all the scorn from others that we have been subjected to.

Thanks and Regards
Praveen Krishna

And then his reply....

Dear Mr.Praveen

Sorry for the delayed reply , as I was out of town.

We are happy that you are also looking forward to the Palio Stile Multijet.

I am unable to share the exact date of the launch, but I can share that it is being launched in March 2008.

Warm regards.

Ricky

@praveen.... He cant share the exact date with you and its pretty obvious. He has mentioned march as the official launch month and I think its good enough.

I agree with you, extreme_torque.
Atleast he mentioned March as the official launch month for the car.
I just hope there is no more delay.

I was initially waiting for the Grande Punto, but since that's still not on the cards in the near near future, I am definitely in line for the Palio MJD.

Hope they get the pricing on the mark this time.

Lightbulb

Any idea how much the Palio 1.3 Multijet would cost? Nice to see
so many people to wait for the car. I guess it should eat a pie of
Swift D's sales as Swift D has long waiting periods. But its sad to hear
that Fiat is having very low targets for Palio D before its launch.
