I just did a random check on features albeit a few really basic ones:

- The Palio comes with a Tacho on all variants whereas the Swift has it only on the VDi

I am unsure of this but the Swift complies only to BS-III norms whereas the Palio meets Euro 5 norms (I got this info off the website).

I'll try and get Amey's Swift for a head to head comparison provided I get time off during getting my car serviced .

if the MJD can comply with Euro-5 then DDiS will too, but expect Maruti to roll it out when required, at the customer's expense, of course !

Maruti will roll it out as an upgrade and add 15k to the price for the upgrade

Very Competitively priced I must say. It was expected that Palio would be priced slightly lower than the Swift DDIS. I would like to see how many fans in this forum buy the Palio MJD as it is finally launched!

Default Great

Its nice to see a good car chasis with probably and presently the best samll capacity diesel.
But I am really not very sure about the After Sales and Service of Fiat.

And it is really one of the most important criteria when some one is buying a car from his/her hard earned money.

I seriously doubt the AS & S capability of both Fiat and Tata.

Lets see what is the best quality they can churn out.

Am impressed with pricing they have got it spot on.

But that said they have compromised also (obviously they are not here for charity), to start with Tyres, obviously the same ol interiors leave alone the basic design etc. I love the new grill but if you look at the feature list you will see its not that great also. Competitors website has more listing of these nity gritty stuff.

Main kill would be Getz D, Swift has finally got a tougher competition thats all, thanks to Maruti A.S.S.

Now who all are buying it, thats the real question to be answered.

Control! Control myself till September. Linea will also be launched, with ABS, EBD, Blue&Me, 90bhp, etc. Somebody please post the NVH of palio MJD as compared to Swift.

The Palio website is fully updated with all specs and prices. The lower end model has many standard features unlike the swift Lxi. Wheel covers, antiglare mirrors, internal adjustable OVRM, etc are all standard.

I also like the accidental crank safety system and the reverse gear lock which are very useful.
