It will be great if the 90bhp version is available as an option on the Palio

That certainly wont be coming on the Palio, even the GP is said to be in the same tune as the Palio that is 75bhp, the 90bhp version is for the Linea.

@ Geek - Palio doesnot have 15inchers, yes it has defogger, and earlier Palio's had ABS, Airbags, but i dont think Fiat is going to offer it, since the price has to be very very competitive to take on the likes of the Swift.

Does anyone have any guesstimate as to when it (ie Fiat Palio 1.3L MJD) will be launching ?

This is my plan B if Skoda prices Fabia outrageously.

Looks like Fiat is finally getting serious about India.
They have updated their website - Fiat India

Currently it only contains the Palio Stile but I guess we should have some more updates from them soon.

Why not? Palio was introduced with the 1.2 and 1.6 litre versions when it came out first, then the 1.1 replaced it so now its 1.1 and 1.6, FIAT has given options for Petrol and so why not in its diesel siblings as well?

The 90 bhp could go in the Linea as well, but it would be good if it is available in Palio as well.

Until we have confirmed news saying that it will not be released in 2 avatars, we can still hope for it. I guess we have been hearing that 1.3 mjd will be plonked in, but there has no news on the state in which they will come out in the Palio.

This enhanced version could be a great differentiating factor between Palio and the Indica when it comes with the MJD. If the difference in price between the 1.3 Palio and 1.3 Indica is less (say 40-50k), it could cannabalize Indica sales and Tata would not want that.

just my thoughts, but we can only wait and see whats going to come out...

thangu - while all of us sincerly hope that Fiat gives us a 90bhp version of the 1.3L engine it is highly unlikely, since they need to diffrentiate the Linea, GP and Palio with the same engine, and 90bhp = VGT = More Cost.

It seems highly difficult that Palio would get 90 BHP engine.. Even as an option because that would put it into league of GP.. This is my thought process about the line up...

FIAT Palio: petrol = 1.1: 3.5-4.5L, 1.6: 4.5-5L
FIAT Palio: 1.3 MJD = 4.3-5 L
FIAT GP: 1.3 MJD = 5-6.3 L (75 n 90 BHP)
FIAT Adventure: 1.3 MJD = 5.5L-6.3L (75 n 90 BHP engine)
FIAT Linea: 1.3 MJD 90 BHP = 6.5L-8L (Strictly 90 BHP)

I know m a bit optimistic about the 90 BHP engine...
