The first 'New' car I brought was an Indica Vista TDi, in 2010 - it was a gift to my dad.
The first 'New' car I brought for myself was Fiat Punto MJD, in 2011.

Same story. Second hand ambassador bought in 1986. Sold in 1992.

First new car was Maruti 800 in 1989. Maruti was new in Indian market with 800 their big launch so they were running contests. 500 bucks ticket and you can win a new 800. My father entered it just for fun and won

my first new car was a Tata Safari Dicor 3.0 in black colour. bought in 2007, sold in 2010 after driving it for 1,10,000 kms.

it was an impulse decision that made me buy the Safari. I was in the market for a Swift VDi and putting up in gurgaon. The Swift had a waiting period of more than 3 months. I paid the booking amount of 5k and waited. I was driving a hand me down Zen at that time and anybody who has lived in Gurgaon during that time would testify about the terrible roads and speedbrakers. my heart pained each time the Zen scraped over a speed breaker.

I went to faridabad for a party and my cousin asked me to fetch the cake from the nearby market. I took his Safari to the market, and I decided that was it, I am going to get a safari. the thought at that time was that it wont scrape over speed breakers for sure

My first new car Honda City SMT 2009 bought by dad .
The worst part was I was not allowed to go during the delivery (as suggested by the Astrologer )

Second car is a Polo 1.5 TDI highline 2014. The car is being delivered next week.

First car was Amby 1971 Mark III, bought in Feb 1997, sold in 2008.

First new car was Bolero Camper bought in 2002 quickly followed by Indica V2 in 2002 itself.

Next purchase was in 2011, a Maruti Omni. Followed it up with Santro five months later.

Omni is now gone for about 7 months and Santro is scheduled to go in a month or two.

Next buy would be Zest XMS or Dzire VDI.

My first car purchase was Fiat Punto 1.3 MJD 2009 followed by Skoda Rapid 1.6 TDI 2014. I haven't sold my Punto as yet & don't intend to in the short term

There's always that special connect with the first ride & I enjoy driving her even now, although I do feel guilty if I don't give enough attention now that I have a new obsession. Here's a pic from last week. She still looks a million bucks

We booked our M-800 in 1983 and the delivery happened in 1987. Only four colors- chocolate brown, red, blue and white were available then. In 1986 the original japanese model was replaced by the new shape(with full hatch door as against only glass hatch for the original model).

Such was the sellers market in those days, the dealer didn't even bothered to clean the car before delivery. Our car' back seat had bird droppings which we had to clean ourselves. Petrol was Rs.8 a litre then and we used to fill just for Rs.50, which would give it a range of more than 100Km's.
We bought the car for Rs.60K in 1987 and sold it for Rs.65K in 1998 with a profit of 5K (after using it for 11 years). Can you imagine that today!!

First car - TATA Indica DLG Turbo. Brought in 2006 and sold in 2013, with a heavy heart. I sold it to a colleague, so I still get to see it once in a while and also talk to him about the condition of the car. The heart still feels a little pain whenever I see it.

Brought a Dzire VDI in 2013 and has been my second love since then.

First Car: Maruti Suzuki WagonR VXI (K-Series) bought in May 2010. Though it was good in terms of space and practicality, it fell short of power and dynamics. When the petrol prices started pinching my pocket, I exchanged it with a diesel motor after crunching 19000 kms within 2 years.

Bought a Ritz VDI in April 2012 which has been serving me well for the last 29000 kms.

First car: Used Maruti Omni.
Bought in 2003 and used for 2 years. It served us good and we also used for transporting our factory produce to market.

Second car: Pre-worshipped Zen ZXi
This was a gem of a car and a real pleasure to drive around, both in city and highways. Drove for 3 years and exchanged for a new car.

Current car: Swift VDi bought in 2008.
56000 kms done and still going strong.
This was a great upgrade from Zen and have enjoyed every km of its drive!
Not to mention the happiness every time I tanked up diesel between 2008-2009!!
