Point taken...but Hyundai couldn't even battle it out with the Corolla and the Optra.

Bottomline is nobody wants a Hyundai for higher segments (the Santa Fe might be an exception though)....reason being they just can't match up to the quality & performance standards expected in those segments. Also, the fuel efficiency of the Hyundai cars in those segments are poorer than the competition.

Six colors available - Corrida Red, Satin Grey, Brilliant Silver, Magic Black, Candy White and Cappuccino Beige.

4.99 for the base petrol or diesel. What interests most would be the pricing of the 1.4L 69bhp diesel.

If top end diesel is to cost 7.7lac ex-showroom ,then on road it would be 8.25lac !

and hence 8.25lac, 7.5lac, 6.75lac and 6lac OTR or so

JK, the announcement doesn't give a break down of the variants, their specs and prices. They've just given a range for the price.

Thanks buddy. I am also eagerly waiting for more news. It has been more than 3 months since I eyed on this car. I was in the market for a car and I came across this car so I decided to postpone my purchase. I can only wait till March 10th then I have go buy whatever car that is out there.

Just saw the ads on tv channels for the fabia. Also passed a grey fabia diesel on my way home and the diesel clatter was very obvious. The car was on low revs but not idling any yet the engine sounded like an indica!

What will be the cost in Bangalore? Looks good to me. Can definately be a competitor to Ford Fusion and Getz CRDI.

What about the petrol prices?

The more I read about it. the more I feel that, if I do go Fabia, I might choose petrol.

The simple economy says so; I've done 3,500Km in 7 months. I felt the diesel swift was worth having for the experience (and hey, I can almost recall each time I've filled the tank )

But this time, the petrol car might be the nicer one to drive?

Atleast as far as driving experience goes, the Fabia will be no where near the Swift, petrol or diesel.

I don't like the Fabia looks too much. If you see the pics from the auto show something looks off, the profile is a bit boring, its doesn't look fresh and exciting, not modern or young, more like something grandmothers would drive. IMHO.

Punto was supposed to be launched this year but apparently that's been pushed to 09 and Linea will be launched mid this year. Punto looks a bit more modern to me. I would like something like the Golf now, not 2 years later when other designs have taken over.

There is a difference of 36K from Base to Middle and there is a huge difference of 1.33 Lacs between the middle and higher end.

Are they correct with the prices ?
