I too voted for SX4 for redefining the segment. What is GV doing in this list, it is a fringe car for very special needs.

I think this poll is a lost cause. It hasnt been properly thought through - midway through its lifetime we're still debating what should be in and what shouldnt be. As a result we have a bunch of new cars and one existing car with a new engine competing in the poll.

@ Samurai - the GV is still a new car and should therefore be there. However it doesnt make sense to club the BMW 5 Series and the Volvos with the GVs and the Swift Diesels.

Whats the Swift DDiS doing here? It's not a new car but a variant of a existing one. IMO, it shouldn't be on the list.

If the Swift D is here then:

1.) Why leave the Ford Fusion diesel out?

2.) Why is the Optra Magnum TCDi left out?

3.) Why is the Fiat Palio Stile left out?

4.) Why is the Hyundai Sonata CRDi left out? (From what I remember it was introduced this year into the market, right?)

Were the above cars left out because they are not "high profile" and sales duds unlike the Swift D?

No because we have software limitation of 15 options in the poll.

Don't forget 2.2L safari/Scorpio. No, this poll needs to be redefined. Let's get nominations first, then let's start a new poll thread.

In that case, leave ALL variants out. Let us vote only on new cars.

I left only the new cars on the list, let me know if it is correct. Now, people who voted for other cars, let me know whether you can vote again. If not, we will have to re-create the poll again. Fresh polls!

What I meant is it's not fair to the other variants if Swift D makes it to the list and they don't. Rules should be same for everyone.

I agree with Samurai and Steer. We need to have only the new cars on the list. If we have slots left for more let the slots be empty instead of including one variant and leaving out the others.

Default Variant of the year

In that case lets have a "Variant of the year" also in a seperate poll.

I will vote for the SX4 in the new poll!

Ok then.
Thread renamed and poll realigned.

Anything else that needs to be included/deleted from the poll?

The BMW's and Audi's were launched this year too. We should include them too.

hehe. Without the Swift D, the SX4 seems to have a huge huge margin over the others!
