I am a big fan of IOC normal diesel too.

However, last couple of tankfuls for the first time ever tried normal SHELL diesel and didnt like the results. For approximately Rs.1 higher/Litre, i am losing approximately 1km/Litre average

I am going back to IOC

My ODO reading is 1050KM, so this is before first service.

Driving has been with 100% AC on and 80% city and 20% highway. BTW, is IOC same as BP?

I got about 18Km/l on high with full AC on HP. I am now currently on Shell diesel and getting around 13.2Km/l with full AC. But I found smoothness in India Oil and I have just clocked 1050KM.
What I find is more the average speed the better is the milage irrespective of the bunks used.

You are right- it used to be until a few days back. I refilled two days back, and the prices have gone up!

i prefer IOC or HP for my scorpio.

as far as possible, i avoid BP as the engine sounds a bit throaty with it.

Always try to fill fuel at Shell Petrol Pumps since IMHO, I stand a better chance of getting unadulterated petrol and also of not getting cheated in quantity dispensed !

As many of us know, in India, Shell is only a marketing outfit, and they source their fuels from the Indian oilcos. The above is probably their USP, and it is a sad but telling comment on the state of the country.

i am happy with HP - so far so good. Not had a problem with either Diesel or Petrol whenever I ve filled up. I dont use Premium/ Turbojet or whatever - just normal Diesel and Petrol.

I have used both IOC & BP petrol & diesel - couldn't find any significant difference, may be the fuel station matters more while considering quality.

Always advisable to fill from a reputed outlet.

Many experts have advised (even on this forum) against premium fuels, rightly pointing out valid reasons.

But we can see that petroleum companies are going around with intense marketing strategies promoting premium fuels - may be trying to fill their coffers easily.

For bangy - I used to fill up at shell when i stayed in kagdaspura. Now that i have moved to koramangala, I fill up at the HP bunk opposite maharaja restaurant or the HP bunk on IRR near eijipura signal.
For pune - its one of those two petrol pumps when you turn in towards koregaon park. I think that bunk is called rashidh khodadad.

I keep feeling that after filling shell diesel in my Punto, i get a lower average. Also, somone told me that the shell diesel is not normal and contains additives! Is this true? Because we are not supposed to fill premium diesel in the punto. Plus it now costs 39.xx per litre! This will be my last tankfull of Shell Diesel.

I tried HP and BP also. Dont know where you get IOC diesel in pune. With BP i found the engine becoming a bit gruff but i got a better average. What do you guys recommend in Pune?
