The dealer in Vadodara says the pricing is likely to be very near to Esteem. And its with new M13 engine.
Its expected in April 2008.

Guess! this is very late for this thread but That is the single most ugliest car i have ever seen in my life and i would puke if i saw it in front of me. Seems like a Swift hatch had an unauthorised LPG kit in the rear and it exploded!! And vallah!! Maruti figured out We Have THE DESIRE!! YA rite!! Desire to hide my face in shame when out on the road with a car that looks like a frog with a fat bum!!
I appologise but the above was purely IMO.

Dont understand why cant Suzuki get the Swift Sports GTi 1.6, 123BHP, Twin Exhausts, 16" Stock Rims, Sporty Interiors, n an OHH! so sexy front end!

Suzuki i hope you are listening coz thats the best i could do to get you'al to bring that car here !!!

yes the link worked only worked partially and rest was print screen job.
I now came to know that diesel SX4 could be delayed because the diesel Swift Sedan would come first.
This is what the dealer in my city says so.

Can any one confirm this.
I was surely told that this car will be with M series engine.
And it would look much better when we see this in flesh.

I agree with all posts . it is not fit to replace the esteem which looked way better. But Dezire will run because of the Maruti Brand. It surely wont be
over priced. I somehow feel Logan is overpriced for the diesel version . So
it will easily eat up sales of Logan & Indigo. End of the day consumer will
surely be satisfied with the Diesel Dezire. Because Esteem diesel had a poor run. Dezire diesel will surely sell more than petrol.

actually, it looks pretty ok to me too.

I think Dezire will be the answer to the most reliable and cost effective diesel sedan.
Overwhelming response to the Swift diesel proves it. Like swift once you start seeing too many of them on road, you will start liking it.
To my eyes dezire looks better than Indigo CS and Lodan based on the pic comparison.

its not a beauty contest guys,but the question is is it value for money than the indigo or the logan.the segment maruti is looking at is the entry level mid size .
sx4 diesel wont be an immediate launch,but dezire would come in both petrol and diesel options.expect a huge waiting period for the same.

OMG! I cannot imagine the waiting period for the Swift, Dezire and SX4 when the Dezire is launched! Looks like waiting period will be almost a year . But I really wonder, why Maruti doesnt address the waiting period issues first rather than launching newer models. Else, they loose customers.

Last Friday I was at a maruti dealer in gurgaon and he mentioned that the launch will be in end of March, but it's being launched in petrol first.
