Yet another re-badged Daewoo from the GM Stables. In the US, some of these Daewoo clones are sold under the Suzuki brand in which GM has a stake. The optra is sold as the Suzuki Forenza. see pictures in this link:

Captiva wil be a 2.0l CRDi engine priced on the lines of the Honda CRV, read this in the interview from the GM head

Guys,

Saw a Captiva in Apex Auto Gurgaon yesterday...looks a beaut !!

But i thought they hadnt launched it as yet... ???

Captiva has brilliant diesel engine. That should help its cause. Equipment levels and cabin space are better than those provided by Ford Endeavour.

is it launched ??????? i have seen a golden coloured captiva refueling at moti nagar HP petrol pump which is infront of harpreet ford , moti nagar. also chevy showroom is not even 1/2 km away from that place (autovikas).

edit : It is registered with a gujrat (GJ) number.

not only higher state of tune but also is equipped with VGT to boost HP and torque, 150BHP and 330NM of pure a** kicking torque!

Even i saw a GJ number silver captiva here in gurgaon several times in gurgaon and vasant vihar.It find it more appealing than CRV.

GM India unveils Chevrolet Captiva

New Delhi: General Motors India on Wednesday launched its premier sports utility vehicle, Chevrolet Captiva, priced at Rs 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The car will compete with Honda's best-selling sports utility vehicle (SUV), CR-V, which is sold at Rs 19.1 lakh and Mitsubishi's Pajero priced at Rs 18.1 lakh among others.

"The two-litres diesel engine powers Captiva has everything that a premium SUV customer in India wants. We are positioning it as a contemporary SUV here," Karl Slym, President and Managing Director, GM India said here at the 9th Auto Expo.
