hope they start getting their prices right after this vehicle is launched. Only then can they expect to increase numbers

Hope they price the Palio SDX properly. Those looking for build quality can go for the Palio, others may opt for the Indica X1 with the 1.3 heart. However, these 2 vehicles will be very similar in specs from the same camp. Wonder how they will manage the sales.

simple.... Kill FIAT sales... This is how TATA will manage sales of Indica 1.3 MJD... This is how most of the TATA dealers will treat Palio.. In my opinion, they should have kept Indica to Dicor version only and aggressively sale Palio MJD... But FIAT guys seems to be happy with 3 fig sales..

Too early to say about the pricing & positioning of Palio 1.3 MJD and Indica 1.3 MJD, it could be positioned on the lines of Indica Xeta and Palio Stile 1.1 currently.

Although both have same heart, still Palio will have edge over Indica as far technology goes. Will new indica have the gearbox from Fiat or Tata. This is another difference.

Those who care about the brand and model would go for Palio and else Indica would be the choice.

I would anytime stick to Palio.

Word from Fiat rep, Fiat Palio 1.3 MJD (Base Diesel): 4.7-4.8L ex-showroom, New Delhi. This is the final blow to the Palio. at that price, no one will even think abt the Palio over Swift.

Also, the Tata Indica MJD is coming in Q4, 2008. So 6 months for the Fiat guys to do something....anything!

Indica will be price more competitively as it is a tata company. I feel it will be priced between nearing Palio 1.3 & swift diesel. The may add up few goddies compared to Palio.

isnt there anyone who thinks that suddenly the indica turbo DLG seems like an utterly cheap and decent bargain? Palio base diesel at 4.7 ex showroom doesnt stand too much chance against a swift VDi with MUL A.S.S!

Swift VDi is priced at 5.20 ex showroom so there is a price difference of 45K to start of with. I am sure you will get some discounts on the Palio which are not being offered on the Swift. Plus you have the waiting period, which I am sure will lure some buyers.

A Black Palio according to me looks anyday better than the swift.Would have definately gone for one if the aftersales service was 'yahoom'
