Are they nuts? They keep changing their schemes and discounts so often that its tough for even a car guy to keep track. Confusion is never a good thing to have in the car market. Why can't GM just keep things straight-forward?

Its as if they have an order book target to fill. The introduce large discounts to collect orders. As soon as the order book is full, they stop them again. Seems quite silly if they want to sustain the Spark as a long term success like the Santro or Wagon R.

I dont think too many people would be willing to buy a Spark without a hefty discount now. When the discount is not there, they'll just wait for it come back.

I can sense Vasudeva giggling, with a "I told you so" look in his eyes!

It is sad that GM is playing games with its customers.

Much like the Palio, one more car is in real danger of losing out owing to sheer stupidity on the part of its owner.

Hi all,

Saw an ad in today's newspaper. The ex show room prices in Pune are:

Base : 2.82 L
Spark PS : 3.01 L
Spark LS : 3.16 L
Spark LT : 3.45 L
Spark LT (O) : 3.74 L
Spark LT (O) with Air Bags : 3.86

The discounts are ranging from 31k ito 40k depending on the model.

I booked Spark LT when the discount was maximum (50K). The exshowroom price, then, was 3.48L. So the prices are pretty much at those level today, infact couple of thousands less! Ofcourse, GM has cut down the discount and passed on the excise duty benefit.

LT with Airbags at 3.86L. Would be 4.2 on road. That is fantastic pricing. Hope they keep the prices constant.

How?? I guess there would be further discount of 30-40k on that 3.86lack Exshowroom. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm assuming that the exshowroom prices does not include discount.

Spark seems to be good value for money!!! But i wanna ask one question is
it weird that its speedometer is placed in the center? Any owners are welcome to give feedback. I guess many cars are soon going to have that placement of speedometer. (Eg. Next Indica,Toyota Vios)

It is cost cutting measure by the OEM. By keeping the speedometer in centre position the OEM doesn't need to change positon for the speedometer if they want to export the car country which has left hand drive system.

But personally i find the cars difficult to drive with the speedo in the centre and it take eyes off from the road.

Thanks

Amit
