The Nano is going to affect bike sales big time & in a few years time you will have Hero Honda, Kinetic, TVS, etc. manufacturing Rs.1 lakh cars just like Bajaj did.

First many ridiculed Tata and now when they saw the response at auto-expo, everyone is hopping on the concept.

I just fear that many of the competitors provide better build and finish than Tata. I just hope the innovator doesn't gets left behind.

Also one lady was criticizing Tata by making cars affordable to mass markets. Now I wonder what her reaction would be.

If Govt. steps in and increase taxes prices are bound to increase.

Ask that lady, what's wrong in that? Are we not part of the masses? If she was born in the boot of a rolls royce with a key of a maybach in her hand, then does that mean only she has the right to own a car?

i posted it with scope for mis-interpretation. She was quoting that from environment point of view. well that cant be avoided. but if we have good mass transport systems it can be a bit better.

but now so many car makers clinging on to the idea, her fears can soon be reality.

i dont blame car manufacturers. i salute tata for this. but its loss of opportunity for the govt. for e.g. check out how massively successful is delhi metro.
