I think Bolero can be used for towing and that could be very useful to the rich farmers who buy it. Also, the sound it makes reminds them of the tractors in their fields.

Bolero has been best right from its launch, i think mahindra should try to evolve the existing vehicle rather than launching a new one, what would u people say?

I owned a Bolero Sportz for 2.5 yrs (Peugeot) IDI engine.I can vouch for its trouble free nature and the A.C in it is to be experienced to believe, simply the best. For a tall(6'3") he driver seat space was much better compared to the Scorpio now.

I learnt my driving on a 80's Mahindra Jeep, and from there to Bolero & Scorpio the creature comforts have only increased, Bolero is indeed a great buy given the drivability & affordability of a rugged vehicle...

i believe the title and the stats quoted are a bit misleading.

Bolero for me is a People Mover or MUV not at all a SUV.

there seems no point calling it a SUV and discussing the same as most of the people who buy Bolero do it for moving people or commercial purposes.

just my 2 cents.

As someone who for a couple of days had to use a Mahindra Bolero as a office pick up - there was a cab shortage for some reason - its awfully cramped compared to Tavera, Sumo or Qualis
And its AC is pretty useless -except maybe in the mountains - I remember we were feeling suffocated - and this was Delhi in September

Clearly Mahindra must be doing something right with this vehicle to be lapped up the junta in such large numbers. I have a hunch that its is mostly B-class small towns and rural areas that are big customers for this vehicle.

So, basically I am trying to understand more about this vehicle because its rarely spoken about (or suggested) on Team BHP, its plus points and who the buyer demographic is and where do these people live because I sure as heck did’nt see too many of these in Bangalore. So... lets talk Bolero.
It's a cop car as of now and that might be one of the reasons for such awesome sales figures.

The Bolero is a rugged vehicle so it sells in the interiors. The Union and state government departments are regular buyers. Mahindra sells various variants of the Bolero to suit diiferent tastes.
I have only one grudge against Mahindra. They launch the car at one price say 5lacs and then slowly they take it higher by atleast 25 to 50k . This has happened with the Scorpio and now with the Bolero. Most other manufacturers don't do this.

I wouldnt be surprised since the number of Bolero's have gone up considerably in Bangalore. Say for the last few weeks I have been seeing atleast 2/3 new vehicles on road on a daily basis.

The newly designed bumper gels pretty well with Bolero. I wished they got rid of those funny looking primitive door hinches and came up with something modern.

I am using Bolero from 2001, a GLX for 5 years and now SLX for past 2 years. It is a practical and reliable vehicle.

Do all Boleros come with the 63 bhp four banger or do you get the option of the 2.2 CRDi with the higher models.

I couldn't find a single Bolero with the CRDi on their website.
