Well I asked about discounts on the VLX from local dealer & they are just offering a paltry 5-10k, that's it!
I even quoted that someone already got close to 40k but nothing moved!
How can there be so much discrepancies on discounts/schemes across States!

I tried to put things in the head of the dealer that Xylo which is priced lower is much better VFM or the Scorpio which comes at a fraction more cost is a better buy, but he just refused to up the ante!

Hey sorry for being a little late but anyways saw this at a M&M dealership in Karnataka.India's largest selling SUV: Mahindra Bolero (Pic-Pg 36. Launch - Pg 41)-img00008.jpg
May be you can show this to your dealer and ask him about whats the scheme in your area.

in BLR - generally there is about 50K higher cost likely on account of the rate of tax (motor vehicle lifetime tax)
knock off a bit via discounts etc (in case one is able to negotiate the same) and you will typically find the difference in price on account of taxes alone.

The road tax is same for the whole state, not just Bangalore.

Not really, it is the Karnataka government that reserves the ripping rights.

correct. Karnataka has always had this issue. Just that many of us here buy in Bangalore which is why I wrote BLR.

Another bolero crossing the river

Remember that old river crossing done in a Bolero sport, well, the new grill Bolero did just the same

certainly it will
also through the floorboards and the other leaky bits

the serious off road vehicles which can handle immersion in water like the LandCruiser and Land Rover and the Wranglers etc invariably will have Snorkel systems so that water doesnt get into the exhaust and will also have specially sealed underbody areas to completely cut off any water seepage or atleast minimize it to the best extent.

The Bolero, Safari and Scorpio etc will certainly leak a bit if you go as deep as that, into water.
So will the Gypsy.
