Rise in Balero sales has something to do with NREGA (National Rural Employment Gurantee Act)

There was an article in a biz mag that NREGA is dubbed as 'Bolero Scheme' in Govt circles. The reason is after this act, the village surpanchs are buying themselves a Bolero.

Another silly question. why didn't the vehicle breakdown in water, given the fact there isn't any snorkel fitted? Good driving skills or sheer luck?

Post Not too deep so as to require snorkel.

The water wasn't deep enough...any MUV (Tavera/Qualis/Sumo) would have crossed it just as easily...as long as the driver keeps the revs in the correct range.

Yeah, atleast in that AS registered Bolero sport's case, it looks as if there is road below, and the river was overflowing over it. So the diver knew his way, no surprises or sudden dips, so I guess, not big deal there.

I see water till grill level, so howcome its not deep? The silencer is certainly much below in a Bolero.

Also, Here are somethings that I want in atleast the storm to justify its price:
  • Rear Wash wipe
  • Rear Fog lamps
  • Alloys
  • ABS (?)
  • Remote fuel lid opener.
Thease are now basic features these days. Why can Storm have it?

Well, the air intake / air filter opening is slightly above that grill, and I feel it is also splash protected, I mean it is engineered that way. Water is deep, but not deep enough to stall a Bolero.

As long as the driver keeps the revs high the exhaust won’t take any water in, unless it is that badly corroded and has lot of holes in between.

And about the remote fuel lid opener, I thought it was included in Storm, is it not?

Rear wipe/wash would be a boon. Fog lamps, alloys, I feel its better to let the owner choose rather than the company adding it on.

Dear Amtak, I own a Storm and I also agree that the equipment level is abysmally low, but it does have a few goodies. My responses in the bold

  • Rear Fog lamps - Arrey we need Front Fog lamps first
  • Alloys - Actually for its specified use, I think it doesn't need alloys
  • ABS (?) - Absolutely
  • Remote fuel lid opener - Already There.

Over this the Storm has Voice activated announcement system as well

Remember the Bolero TG is not too much internet savvy, so they don't bother updating the site.

All of us here who have bought a Bolero are a miniscule percentage of the total numbers and an aberration

Something in the lines of "Ladies and Gentlemen, fasten your seat-belts. The Storm is about to begin"?

I just hope that the voice is like our typical daily talks. Imagine Bolero talking - "Abbe Hero, seat belt pehen. Dimaag ki ****** Don't want to get banned". Or something like - "Tu aadmi hai ki andaa, tere ko bataya naa, tire mein hawa kamm hai"
