18/20 is unbelievable! One can easily believe it is liters of fuel consumed per 100 kms for performance mode!

No matter how good the BMW 3 Series is, there is one reason why i would blindly choose the Mercedes C Class over it, and that is Manual Transmission in the Merc. I dont know why Audi and BMW think themselves smarter by giving all those auto tranny, agreed the Audi DSG is faster then then Manual, but ill prefer to control the gearbox manually. I know some of them have paddles, but they just dont cut in like normal manual trannys do.
I am with you! Wish somebody in BMW India reads this!

if the BMW diesel is introduced in a manual variant there would be nothing like it as it would eat up the competition with the new c class. however Audi offers some of the best diesel engines and the new a4 looks outrageous. is there a diesel a4 being offered in india??

As much as we enthusiasts would like a 6-speed manual, they just don't sell in that segment. Over 90% of C-Class' are ordered with the slushbox.

But I would imagine that is a typical Merc thing, most people buy mercs for comfort and not for driving pleasure (barring AMGs). If 3-series comes with manual it will be different story altogether.
At least Audi will bring manual transmission, I hope :-(

The A4 does come with a 2.0 L Diesel engine with a 7 speed multitronic gearbox. The engine puts 140 Bhp & how it puts it out is another story

Cheers

Drove it yesterday and this car is awesome even in Auto transmission, Imagine what kind of control you will get in Manual. There is no option of Manual in India and no plans of getting it here.Driving dyanamics & handling is rock solid.Steering is hydrualic and razor sharp.Even test drove Merc C220 CDI and merc does not feel that rock solid and yes there is a turbo lag in it.Overall levels of refinements are in BMW as compared to Merc,Interiors and Equipment are far more superior....trust me by November this car will make to my garage.

The new C220 has turbolag? I drove it and didn't feel it at all!
