All Merc cars are officially available in India the moment their RHD versions get launched abroad (exceptions being the A-Class & the SLR). Reason being that other than the C,E,S they import everything as a CBU anyway & would be more than happy to get you a CL or an SL or a CLK etc.

SLK 200 has been homologated. Any car costing over $40000 and 3 litre CC and above does not need to be homologated. Thank Mr Bachchan, Ambani and a lot of rich influeential people etc for this.

that means you can import any car above the 40 lakh price , thats why lambo opened its dealership in india along with porsche , bentley, earlier this was not possible

S350L and S320L are locally assembled. All other models are direct imports
