New Value for money proposition in C segment..Fiesta Sxi

After the recent price correction and added standard features like ABS, airbag, indicators on ORVM, 6 CD changer, leather seat covers etc, Fiesta 1.6 SXi is more feature rich now and is cheaper than the Maruti SX4

Fiesta SXi on road in HYD now - 8.05 lakhs
Maruti SX4 Zxi on road in HYD - 8.11 lakhs

Knowing Fiesta's strengths(Exceptional handling, ride, fun to drive etc), do you guys think this will change Ford's fortunes and increase Fiesta sales? Will customers go for the trusted & proven Fiesta?

OR SX4 has what it takes to beat all other C segment cars?

I would still choose the SX4. Looks much fresher than the dated Fiesta.

SX4 - Its newer, better looking, better FE and its a Maruti.

Given a choice between these two cars, I would choose the Fiesta over SX4. Though SX4 looks fresher than Fiesta, I am not a fan of its looks. In every other aspect, Fiesta should be able to better SX4.

I dont think it gves better FE.
And the SX4 is not doing as good business as maruti expected.
I guess the Ford would be better VFM. But still the crowd would be with the Maruti. Thats called "MARKET-TING"

I prefer Fiesta. The blue oval has its own image. The FORS service in my area is far better than Maruti . (in my area).

One problem with Ford is its A.S.S, which often leaves its customers unhappy. Whilst Maruti's service is not all that its made out to be, its still light years ahead of Ford.

Also, we seem to be forgetting the market leader in the price category - the NHC.

I kept NHC out due to its bad "value for money proposition". For 8.5 lakhs you won't get anything other than steering and four wheels...I am mainly pissed off with the lack of standard safety features.

if you compare fiesta petrol sales with sx4 ,sx4 is way ahead.if fiesta has improved on features its feeling the heat from all corners.sx4 is still a VFM option.16 inch alloys,climate control,bigger boot,more comfortable seating position etc would add to the edge sx4 already has over the fiesta.and maintenence of a maruti is any day cheaper than a ford.

I have seen Fiesta owners struggle to drive over demonic speed breakers here in Bangalore whilst with SX4 it aint a bother at all. Ground clearance does play another important differentiator with bad roads in every city in India. SX4 will rule the roost.

Just out of curiosity, Does SX4 parts cost lesser than other C segment rivals??

Fiesta is a much much better car overall than the SX4. Ford service is horrible though.

I think the Hondaish ness of Sx4 is a advantage.And I think choosing between both is little confusing.But after sales service will make people incline towards SX4.
And let is see how maruthi answers the customers quest!
