Looking at my civic's gear ratio and max rpm, I see 100 kmph can be achieved in 2nd gear itself. So if I want to test this, should I limit it to 2nd gear itself, or move to 3rd rather than reving fully on 2nd.. You see, I am planning to do this sometime soon

hahaha!! an embera is faster than an slk!!
by the wanted to add some achieved times
vw passat 2.0 t ->> 0 - 100kmph in 9.8 secs
mercedes s320 cdi ->> 0 100kmph 8.1 secs
mercedes sl320 ->> 0 - 100kmph less than 10 and same case with v6 accord
also crv and camry were around 10.....

I did! my swift VDi- 0-100 stock 13.6secs
after pete's box 12.6 secs
after pete's and green wind 11.7secs

time for weight reduction!
jettision back seats, speakers, and timekeeper who weighs 90kilos.

I think I can do better with a nicer launch. but its difficult to do safely without a track.

as for your second question- its a Vtec- rev it baby!!!!rev it!!

I am surprised to see that no one had mentioned about hyundai verna vgt.Isnt she a fast one.I think it does 0-100 arround 10-11 sec.

you can test it using your stop watch or using a gtech pro.

for your civic floor it till the limiter. you should reach 100kmph and hitting the limiter a few times dosent cause any harm.

my quote is for all the versions with a manual stick transmisson, no idea if they dont sell the 3.0L with manual here..

Don't be too sure!

According to OD- Palio 1.6 does 0-100 in 12.3 secs while Getz CRDi does it in 11 secs!
