No buddie, from the external view it would be the same as the manual tranny one.Maybe some gear box component is sticking out.All other specs same to the m/t.And more over i thought santro GC was 172 mm.

Im the city stop and go its definately the auto box and otherwise for the sheer fun and thrill its definitely a manual.
I thought that Indians and I speak of Mumbai, were against auto boxes but they seem to have realised that in the city traffic which is getting worse with so many flyovers coming, the auto box is a boon. This I found when i was and an still searching for a pre owned automatic car for myself. It is needless to say I have not found it as yet.

Default Price of used Santro AT

Not sure if this question fits here. However the discussion is on Santro AT, I thought of asking you guys.

I am looking for a used Santro AT and have found one which is Dec, 04 model XG, AT with 25k kms. Asking price Rs. 3lakhs.

Is that worth?

A new GLS AT comes to Rs. 3.90 (Free MP3 and Central locking) Ex-Showroom. Guessing On-road to be 4.3-4.5lakhs (Just a guess)

What is the difference between the GLS variant and XG variant.
All prices in Bangalore.

Hey Shashi,

Not only that - you might wanna recheck the new market again. They are offering the following as well in New Delhi:

1) Free insurance - Rs 12000 approx
2) Exchange Bonus - Rs 10000
3) Corporate Discount - Rs 4000/- approx (may vary from corp to corp)

Therefore the on-road price of a NEW santro GLs A/T (in Delhi after discounts) are:
Approx Rs 3.91 Lac for solid color; and
Approx Rs 3.96 Lac for metallic colours

Therefore its a no brainer (if I were you). I'd rather spend an extra 95K and get a brand new car instead of risk a used one.

regards,

My suggestion would be to go for a new one. With additional 4000 you buy extended warranty package- peace of mind for 4 years.

Thanks HSV and Shatrughna for the quick replies.

I will go with the new one then.
Is the i10 AT option coming soon?

Will book Santro AT in May 1st week , around the time when me and my wife will have a new addition to the family (Yes I will be a Dad when I have my first car in India).

I don't have any car as of now to exchange (So does that exchange bonus apply to me).

It will be a company leased car option and hence I wont be paying the insurance. So can I bargain for some accessories instead of free insurance?

And Yes I would definitely go with the extended warranty.

i10 is definitely coming soon. Not sure about the launch dates. You can check the relevant threads on this forum for more info.

If you are somewhat a dogged negotiator you should be able to get the exchange bonus and free insurance in the form of "Cash Discount" upfront. I wouldnt recommend settling for free accessories as they would be overpriced anyways at the car dealerships.

Oh BTW... Congratulations on your soon-to-become Daddyhood, a.k.a sleepless nights!

Hi everybody,
For the last so many months I was trying to decide which car to buy.

Whether I should go for an automatic transmission and be ridiculed or buy a manual one and let it accumulate dust because I hate changing gears. AND whether to buy a Honda CVT or wait for i10 automatic.

Finally, 2 weeks back, thanks to this very thread, I made up my mind and went in for a Santro GLS AT.

My black beauty has arrived at the dealer and is waiting for the registration formalities to finish.
