i10 and Santro have to top my list, horrible cars, these cars just dont feel like cars built/designed/conceptualized with even 1% of passion. Fortunately i have not driven the much hated Omni and Amby here.

with my limited driving experience in India, it has to be Hyundai i10; i am yet to drive an Amby after which i may change my opinion.
with my extensive driving experience in US and Canada, Nissan Sentra Coupe comes makes it to the list along with Ford Focus (damm slow) and Jeep Patriot (with removable top).

Worst that I have owned - Santro Eco
Worst that I have driven - HM Trekker

But still that santro was easy on the wallet and reliable. But the HM Trekker fell apart like a cartoon car.Reasons for Santro Eco - Pickup , poor performance on bad roads.

I am listing all the cars I've driven. The list starts from the worst car and ends at best. I've listed the feature I hated the most in each car.

1. Maruti 800 (with 4 gears) (2004) - weak brakes
2. Premier Padmini (1995) - just plain outdated compared to today's cars
3. Toyota Liva 1.2L petrol (2011) - binary clutch
4. VW Polo 1.2L petrol (2011) - vague steering
5. Hyundai i20 1.2L petrol (2011) - poor low RPM performance
6. Ford Figo 1.2L petrol (2011) - none
7. Suzuki Swift 1.3L petrol (2007) - none
8. Suzuki Esteem 1.0L petrol (1995) - none

Following cars we had which were total loss to our investment and we were fed up of owning them.
*Maruti 1000cc, 1994. (under powered,brakes booster problem)

*Standard Herald, 1965.(for us this was a killer car as it turned 360 degrees after its rear axle broke on national highway).

*Maruti Esteem, 2000.(Its O H Camshaft broke when the car was on Pune Expressway).

*Latest is my brand new Maruti Alto K10, 2011 (F.C. of 12 to 13 kms/ltr of petrol without AC on highway, Maruti engrs say "13 is a good average..)

In hindsight, has to be the Eicher tractor I used to drive around in the village when young (although it used to feel quite all right back then )

And the Bolero, man that thing is scary to drive!

We had Ambassador at home and it was bare basic car to drive. It was used for all the purpose at that time. Whether need to bring few bags of Cement or some other materials. This car was worst driven in our family and many times it used to fail also. Few times brakes were failed and two times engine was seized.

But I cherish moment with this car as I learnt driving in this car way back.

The Omni, hands down the worst car I have had the misfortune of driving. My friend's 4 gear Maruti 800 was also equally atrocious.

I distinctly remember driving a friend's first generation Indica diesel and telling her "I think the car needs to be serviced." She sheepishly replied, "It just got back from servicing this morning." That pretty much sums up the driving experience!

Worst i have owned is Indica Petrol 2002 ( V2 ).
Worst i have driven is the Tata Nano.

I am not including the car on which i learnt driving in the motor training school over a decade back . It was a santro . But we know that motor training school cars are in terrible shape always.

1. My own Omni which was 7 yrs world when I bought it. (I got stuck up on the highway by 2:30 AM on highway, with wife and 1 yr old son).

2. A friend's 8 yrs old Indica.

3. A 3 yrs old Zen.

All of them are due to poor maintenance of ageing.

But this one, a New Maruthi Eco, a Brand new, was the worst in terms of ride.

I can understand any other car but you hated a Zen?? Was it that particular car you drove or just the Zen as a car?? And was it an Mpfi 1 or a carb 1?? Please I am damn curious to know as I miss my Zen like crazy and feel that no other new car on road today in the hatchback category which is as good as the zen. Probably Swift comes close. But Zen is Zen!!
