Thanks for clearing that up guys. Certainly makes more sense than 2kmpl.

How many car can give you this, a 300+hp car under 30 lakhs.
The closest rival I can think of is the new Nissan 370z with its V6 332hp and both come at around the same price tag.
It's gonna be interesting if both these are launched here.
Someone should invite Shiv Pathak to the forum. Looks like hes doing an excellent job in the US with his ECUs.

While we look for 5-10bph boosts with simple mods on our 70-100bhp cars, folks are doing mods to boost their car by 70-100bhp.

I used to work for Mitsubishi, they claim a fuel consumption of 12liters per 100km when driven sedate. But when you put your foot down be sure to expect ridiculous fuel consumption. It does have a MASSIVE turbo and I think the mixture richens to 11:1 air/fuel ratio under full boost so it will definitely suck on the juice.
But what this car does best is hold the road when going around a corner. Even sitting in the driver’s seat playing with the computer will keep me entertained for days.
Evos are priced at $58,000 AUD
And Lancer Rallyart – turbo is around the $49,000 pricetag. Its the same thing as the EVO, without the semi slick tyres and some other fancy race extras.

The US spec Ralliart has about 237 bhp compared to the Evo with 291 bhp. The Australian Ralliart must have different specs if it is pretty much the same as the Evo.

Awesome! Hope sooner than later Subaru also enters the market. That would be great.

If not buy it, I sure do want (and can only) to test drive it! The Maya motors showroom is a stones throw away! HM! Bring the Evo soon!

Considering that the EVO will be a CBU as well....
Did a small little survey & found that in JAPAN ,
Evo X GSR model (5 M/T) is for 3,790,500円 which is approx Rs. 18,95,250 where as
Montero 3.2 Di-D Variant is for 3,948,000円 which is aproxx Rs. 19,72,500
As GTO said the Montero is being sold OTR Mumbai @ Rs 48 lakhs , if we go by this conversion the Evo whould be costing aproxx 45 lakhs.
Dont know why ACI has stated a figure of Rs 27 lakhs ?
Or the other possiblity is that the Montero is a CBU , but the EVO would be a CKD ? just a thought.

The Montero price is the CBU tax of 126% (not exact, I'm certain), plus logistics and profit. If they are going to bring in the same models, they'll have to price it in the same range to make a profit if they go the CBU route .

So, I'm thinking, they'll localize the shell, frame and plastics for the regular Lancer. Then bring down the EVO drive train, suspension, electronics et al from Japan. If they do that, they can give it to us for 27L and still make a decent profit out of it.

You are expecting or hoping? They need to have enough sales to do even CKD, forget localization. I doubt it. Expecting the price to be on the high 40 lakhs range, making it an impractical buy.

So now you know what the 'BS' in 'BS Motoring' stands for!

In my opinion, most of these magazines tend to overreach themselves. Especially when it comes to pricing, they are so optimistic one would think they're still stuck in the 80's and haven't heard of the concept of inflation. Its only in the month or two immediately prior to a launch that they seem to have somewhat accurate information.

True... but I guess even its at 40L, HM Mitsu wont lose their target market of the Evo. They just need to get it down and rattle the TFSIs and 335s!

Quite true and even Autocar does this. Normally they quote the price of the base models and the features of the top end model. Not very accurate at all.

Sorry bit OT: Video of Evo hitting horse and carrying on as nothing happened! Of course, this is the full rally spec.

Absolutely crazy! Hundreds of horses under the hood competing with 3 crossing the road. Not fair.
