FABIA 1.2 petrol - Team-BHP

As per Autocar site (www.autocarindia.com) Skoda has launched Fabia 1.2 petrol without any fanfare. Priced at 5.11, 5.47 and 6.09L (ex Dehli?)

Without much fanfare? Maybe they didnt want to deter what little prospective customers they had for the more costlier Fabia model.

According to ACI , the 1.2 engine is quite noisy and not powerful enough for the highway . Seriously whats wrong wid SKoda here??
Had it been better refined and priced 30-40 k cheaper then Swift sales would have surely been dented!

It seems Skoda has overpriced Fabia again. IMO Honda Jazz will rule the premium petrol hatchback segment.

I seriously doubt that if the prices were 40K lower, Swift would be dented. Even Getz from mighty Hyundai could not make that happen. Swift is a car that has many positive features and the moement you start the car, the engine definatley feels very lively and the car never feels underpowered. There is lot of overtaking power even with AC and full load.
At 70 bhp, this motor in Fabia is simply not upto the mark. Swift G13 engine is smooth and silent as far as auscotics are concerned, and is great when power and performance are concerned.

Fabia engine in the petrol mode makes it a weak package. It cannot enter the league of the Swift even as promising newcomer.
