Btw, we all have missed that the beat/matiz is lpg version. Please look at the snaps 1,4 and 5 below the right tail lamp assembly. The same was spotted by Car/OD in their current July edition mag

those pics look awsome.. it looks even more aggresively styled than the civic at least from the front, rear looks a bit audi style..

i doubt it would be renamed.. chevy already has a vechile in JDM with that name whihc is a clone of a Suzuki as far as know.

the beat is not based on any other car and has nothing to do with the current spark. that it may end up being called spark in this market is another matter. i remember sometime last year GM had set up an internet poll to select one car from three concepts. i even voted in that poll (for the beat) and the beat won eventually. guess they are now putting it in production, expecting it to be well received - at least by the people that voted for it.

The Cruze has a lot of inspiration from New Accord (front) and Civic from the Rear . After seeing the spy pics expecting good interiors too . I think Cruze might be priced higher than the Magnum . Yet another Corolla vs Optra battle would be awesome that too with Civic on the top.

The Cruze looks like its at leaset half a size bigger than the Optra which leads me to suspect that they will co-exist in the Indian market.

Even i have the same feeling. Magnum 1.6 to compete with New City and Cruze competes with Civic would be a decent option. I hope the Cruze fills the gap between Civic E & Civic V.

Not the best thing to continue selling the present Optra. 1.6 engine is not having sufficient strength to take the fight to Honda 1.5 VTEC.

The best thing to do is discontinue the vehicle and bring in this car as new Optra with a brand new range of engines. That can assure success or else, later the car will be out of buyer's radar.
Mostly they should have 1.6 and 1.8.
1.6 against the 1.5 G3HC and 1.8 against Civic.

Hey Da lowrider,

Beat is not based on the suzuki splash, infact i dont know whether you are aware of this.. search for opel insignia and you will find where splash (ritz now) has come from. Suzuki and opel are sharing the same vehicle body..as like sharing an engine (fiat in most of the cases)

Hope this clears your doubt..

Cheers,
Mah Ram
