New Indica Launch 16th May EDIT:Indica LPG launched - Team-BHP

Yesterday night while on my way home, I met a person who was carrying a bundle of invitation cards and talking on phone. He was telling some on phone that he has been busy distributing invitations for the launch of a new TATA car. This alerted me.

Once he closed the call, I bombarded him with questions.

Which car? What model? When will it be launched? What is the expected price? etc.

The poor guy told me that he was actually accompanying a friend for the work and was not directly involved in it. The limited information available to him was :

1. A function at Pragati Maidan will be held in the evening of 16th May

2. Indica Xeta LPG will be launched

3. A new TATA Car totally different from current models will be launched
(I presume it should be New Indica)

4. An announcement related to the booking date of NANO is expected

5. Booking of NANO will start from 1st June.

I requested him to show me the invitation card. Nothing was mentioned on the card except the get together to be held which could provide business opportunities to the invitees.

So I am keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for 16th.

The very DIFFERENT car should be the Xover!

Ya, the source isnt reliable, but if they are organizing a function at Pragati Maidan then somthing can surely be expected.

New Indica - Hmmm .. That should stir quite a few feathers.

It's the cheapest Diesel I think in the country and it's launch ( Or Major facelift ) after almost a decade is big news for the automotive Industry.

I think the New Indica will target the Swift Diesel in a big way. I just hope its top model is available with all goodies and priced well below 5 lacs OTR.

The second new Tata car launch can also be the Xenon !!

Hmmm... Possibly !!

But what other car is expected from Tata stable right now ? If it was, then they would have chosen the Auto Expo to launch it.

I am surprised that Tata's are bringing it so soon. I was expecting it to be launched post monsoon, at the onset of festive season.

But for last four months, I am regularly seeing Indica X1s being tested on the Katraj - Dehu Road by-pass, without any camouflaging.

The other day I also saw one parked on Law College Road (near hotel Rangoli). Upon enquiring, they told they were carrying out temperature tests (probably heat run test). Ofcourse they refused to allow me inside, instead offering just a peek into the car.

I will be modelling this car in 3D soon interior/exterior as well as the engine block,awaiting for the blue-prints fron the Tata guys,I am sure we will be offered to keep this car for a week to TD like the Sumo grande... will let you guys know about it..cheers

Could this be something that is being tested at Coimbatore?
