I did not have a chance to notice things so closely, however, if it helps, the car under testing had similar interior trims as in the pic posted by Karan.

Looks neat. I still wonder what the actual design of the new Corolla looked like. The front looks like a Mini-Camry though.

On 2nd thoughts, it is just me or does anyone else feel the 1st pic resembles a squeezed Camry ?

Default Compact car ratings

Ratings of Corolla seems to have slid as per CR reports. See the latest standings for compact car segment. Elantra leads the pack as of now.
  1. Hyundai Elantra SE
  2. Honda Civic EX (MT)
  3. Toyota Prius Touring
  4. Mazda3 i (MT)
  5. Honda Civic EX
  6. Mazda3 i
  7. Honda Civic Hybrid
  8. Subaru Impreza 2.5i
  9. Toyota Corolla LE
  10. Hyundai Elantra GLS
  11. Toyota Prius (base)
  12. Ford Focus SES
  13. Mitsubishi Lancer ES
  14. Kia Spectra EX (MT)
  15. Nissan Sentra 2.0 S
  16. Kia Spectra EX
  17. Chevrolet Cobalt LT
  18. Suzuki Forenza (base, MT)
  19. Suzuki Forenza (base)
CR's Corolla test report quick facts are as follows

HIGHS | Fuel economy (32mpg overall), ride, quiet interior,
turning circle, controls, available electronic
stability control.
LOWS | Steering feel, fit and finish, no
dedicated clock display.

BRAKING: very good. Fairly short stops in wet or dry conditions.
HEADLIGHTS: low beams provide very good distance and intensity ahead and to the sides. High beams are also good, with increased intensity.
ACCESS: low roofline requires ducking to get in; rear access is tight.
CABIN STORAGE: moderate, with a two-compartment glove box, console storage, and numerous small bins.
VISIBILITY: good to front and sides; rear head restraints and roof pillars create blind spots.
HEAD RESTRAINTS: adjustable front head restraints and outboard rear restraints are tall enough to provide protection even at lowest settings. The fixed rear-center restraint is too low for taller passengers. Front restraints are active.
CHILD SEATS: front- and rear-facing child restraints should prove secure using either safety belts or LATCH anchors.

Me Got News From Toyota That The Car's Gonna Be Launched In August And It Will Be 12 + , No Engine Change, only the 1.8 VVT-i Around 131Bhp (ECU Retuning I Guess) . And It Have Been Conformed That There Will Be No D4-D.

12+ and to take on the Civic ? The new stripped down Civic E will continue to rule the segment I guess!!

I do hope this is true; the current Corolla lacks the low NVH you'd expect of a 10 lakh rupee sedan.

The side profile looks the same as the out going one for me. The front has been given the Camry look.

Lets hope they add some goodies and spruce up the interior quality, if they want to launch it at 12L.

IMO, D4D on Corolla could be a big differentiating factor for it (over Civic). Looks like Toyota management is happy with Innova sales and aren't very keen on other segments.
