How can the RTO register this car? Has it already undergone the requisite tests?

An imported car can be registered by the RTO without homologation only if its over $40k. The only exception to this rule is if a manufacturer gets a car for testing purposes and I think cannot be sold off to any individual for the next 3 years.

Saw this bravo from the bandra bridge, i thought it was a punto, and was admiring it, and thinking that wow, punto looks great in this color and it looks like a complete sports car, then near santacruz flyover he went ahead and then i saw the BRAVO name, and i was extremly , then i chased and got these few pics, looks like a completed production model.
The Rims were 16" and the tyres were Bridgestone Turanza size 205/55/R16, looked quite adequate to me, but bigger would have been better.

Today, on my way to work, I spotted a rather huge Punto in my RVM. I thought it's the morning sun and my sleepiness playing with my vision. A few seconds later, I see this beautiful blue Bravo by my side. Couldn't help but stare at it awe with my jaws dropping. In my mind, the Linea is a beautiful head turner, but this is much much beyond that.

Hoping to see more of these on the road.

Cheers!

Yep. That is Fiat India's car. They have not launched it and will not be doing so.

Check out - Fiat India

It costs a bomb as it is imported so you pay all the duties.
Sorry, but couldn't see any reference to Bravo on the Fiat India website. Do you have the URL to the product page?

Its a very handsome looking hatch. But even with a local assembly, it may not really fit in as a successful option.

This is FIAPL's car (Fiat India Automobiles Pvt Ltd). There are two : a blue and a red wine one.

If you get to go to the Fiat factory at Ranjangaon you can see them parked inside the factory (apart from a few other Fiat cars that are not yet launched in India). It looks like the photograph posted by Dueller has been clicked on Ahmednagar highway (the factory is located on the same highway)

As far as I know : Fiat is not selling this car in India.

Maybe the mods could close this thread.

Indeed, it is. This place is just after the signal near Hyatt on Nagar Rd.

i think the Bravo from Pune might belong to our fellow BHP-ian, rajat60? here's a link to his thread where his signature says that he's got a Bravo-http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super-cars-imports-india/96054-pics-alfa-romeo-159-3-2-jts-q4.html

When Fiat was on it's own there was a hint that the Bravo may be brought in as a CBU costing some 20L and above and the rest is history, as Fiat India lost it's plot and merged with Tata Motor's. I think this was when the new Palio was launched.
