We dont own any of SX4/Swift/Swift Dzire. AS this poll is about the SX4, I have not voted and wont vote also.

From the results it looks like atleast the SX4 rattling issues are not really a huge case to panic or even claim that maruti is not manufacturing SX4 with defects.

I regularly drive one of my friends SX4 which clocked around 10K but never found any rattles, its as good as my baleno, added advantage is its ground clearance.

Mine is a brand new SX4, 4 days old and there is one sound started from inside the driver seat, mine is a ZXI and it has a height adjustable seat. There is a spring sound coming from the lower base when seat is in the lowest position. The sound disappear when i adjust it to one/two size up. Probably informed the dealer and they hope to replace the entire seat.

I have seen quite a bit of SX4 and i have not seen visible rattles in the car.One of the cars sold at the begining had a rattling sound from the dash board and sorted out with minimum adjustments by the A.S.S.Otherwise the car is rattle free.Dont compare an SX4 with a swift. Both are different segment cars and only similarity between both ends with uasage of some switches for power window. There ends the similarity between both.
cheers

just completed 20K kms and a 1500km road trip during the long weekend. No rattles thankfully. But then if there was, every other manufacturer has something to his credit.

Skoda - enough and more told.
Honda - highly priced ( not my personal opinion but from the forum )
GM - High cost of maintenance ( again hearsay )
Mitsu - High cost of maintenance / Resale
Hyundai - Never owned one. So cant think of . but am sure there is something.

With all this among the other car manufacturers, personally , I would not be little worried if my SX4 rattles or not. I would be more happy thinking that I got away with just the rattles ( if at all there is any ) and not being robbed in pure day light

I own esteem. My initial drive was always within the city and hence I did not know whats a rattle till 20K kms. Then I got hooked up with long distance driving and also I started ignoring bad roads
So I started noticing that my co-passengers have to yell to get my attention and also I have to increase the volume level to get to hear all the contents of the music!!

So if there is an option, does it not make sense to include the kms covered as part of the poll?

Hi! guys.

My SX4 is about 1 1/2 years old done 14k. Just last week an irritating rattling popped up from the rear. Coincidentally the sound started soon after the parking sensor/ rear spoiler was fitted on the car. Got it rectified yesterday at the dealer A.S.S.

Turns 2 in June this year. Its done over 25k kilometers including various stints to goa, aurangabad etc and the latest - when I moved bag and baggage from Mumbai to Delhi.

No rattles at all. Each day, this car impresses me more and more.
The best part is, since I moved to delhi, my fuel efficiency is consistent around 11.5 or more AND the fuel itself has become around 10% cheaper Yeaa!!

An interesting thing.

if one looks at the poll results,
most people who answered no rattles have sx4 as their car, in their profile.
many who claim one or two rattles have sx4, in their profile.
none who woted for the last two categories have sx4s as their cars in the profile at least.

Well, just an observation, maybe all have extensively driven the rattling sx4s.

SLK, it is just that. Some people who do not own the car have created the perception that the SX4 rattles. In some of the cases the reason has been found to be the fitment od some acessory ( parking sensors for instance) .
