It is amusing (to say the least) to see non-owners of the vehicle get worked up after reading this thread.

The title of the thread states the purpose of the thread very clearly.

Hey the bull bar looks good, but it looks better with the 3.0 grille than the newer 2.2 one. The older grille gives the car an imposing stance which is missing in the newer one i feel.

Yes Steeroid they are getting worked up a bit lot, i think the Safari is making them tempted to get one for them also and make them join this thread.

Even the rear wheel cover in the older 3.0 VX was more stylish with safari written all over in chrome. The newer 2.2 wheel cover design looks plain an simple.

Guys, pls provide some details about where the photos were taken.

gowda79 : hope you to will like to share your experience with your 3L TCIC King.
There was no 3.0L TCIC. Only a 3.0L Dicor or a 2.2L Dicor.

The TCIC was only 2L (1948cc).

Default after a nice wash on sunday

Yes the old ones were all the 2L TCIC's.

A bit difficult to drive in the city, but as someone had mentioned it before, once you get the knack, it can pace really well, esp on highways.

I use this only for long drives though.

The only changes that I did to the original was to change the tyres to the old endeavor tyres - the 15" ones - MRF Big Daddy as they used to call. Though they look good on the car, the flip side is that the wheels lock when brakes are applied due to the brake and wheel&tyre mismatch.

Babu thanks for the invite. I will not be able to move out today, since there are a lot of guest at home. Will join up next time around.

is there anybody in here who still owns a 2.0 TCIC safari? we had bought one in 1999 and sold it in 2003 as it proved to costly to own! but i just loved that machine! it had an anaemic/lazy engine but the roar of the engine was far better than any SUVs made today! and i anytime prefer it's looks over the facelifted safari...

@Raj, check : http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/924333-post283.html (All T-BHP Safari Owners- Your Car Pics here Please)

Vinu has one.

One of the reasons I didnot go for the Safari TCIC was the insufficient power. A 90bhp mill pulling a 2.1 tonner would run out of steam more often than we think.

yes, vinu has one, and a very well maintained one! this is one of the few TCICs left which are in good condition... yes, it was very underpowered but in that period, it was the only and best choice available this side of 10 lakhs.

Vinu sir nice pictures and the tyre looks really cool with the endeavour tyres.

But as you said i do not think it is difficult to drive in the city and as you said for highway it is a real BIG DADDY of luxury and drive

By the way who is Babu.......
