I heard hormazd Sorabjee say the launch of New Honda City to be slated for Novemeber.
He said Fiat Linea is expected in September last and Grande Punto early next year.

Just in. My friend who has postponed his purchase of Honda City got a call from dealer today saying that the new model city in talks is coming in hybrid, in sept, will be around 13.5 lakhs, will have less BHP and more milage.

Exclamation cool

The pics are cool but must say The First Generation City with Crystal lamps remains a Benchmark for Indian Car Market. still these new generation models don't compete the beauty and blush...

Default N3HC Look Alike!

The 1 st pic is the Kia Lotze and 2nd pic is the N3HC as shown in ACI. Lot of similarities in the headlamps.

I think at 13.5 Lakhs, New Honda City would be very expensive and is not worth it.

i guess it will have definitely lot more takers than civic hybrid @ 20+L. Comparing the Civic & Civic hybrid prices, we should expect the non hybrid to be available under 10L.

Absolutely. All said and done it's a mid-sizer and rather than paying such a steep premium, i can easily use that money to fuel the regular City for another 60-70k Kms. Also maintenance of Fuel cell and its lifespan are not yet clear. Why spend so much to get a mid-sizer.

I'd rather go in for a Cedia at 9.5 OTR, and and enjoy driving, and use the extra 4lacs for filling in petrol......

If the hybrid is costing around 13.5 lakh ex-showroom ( assumed to be ex-showroom ), then the cost of regular models can be expected to be in the range on less than 9 lakhs.

However is this figure 13.5 lakhs ex-showroom or OTR ?

Hi, and sorry to correct you, but Hybrids do not have fuel cells. They just have a smaller engine mated with a battery which powers up an electric motor.

One can only wish for a 13.5 lac car which comes with a fuel cell

I'd take two!

IMO, what they were trying to convince my friend was that there is no model change. Only that the hybrid is coming in same model in sept. Therefore not to postpone the purchase.

Sounds like bull to me. Dealers would say anything to sell there cars before they have to give heavy discounts.
