1950 is after adding the local sales tax.
Again it can't be 850 for painting - its usually around 200~250.

This looks actually on cue. They finally realise that their cars are over priced. Anyways the new city is around the corner so the cut is expected even though it's small. Let's just hope it's not a let down like the current one.

As per a post from N_C somewhere on the forum, june-july was the launch of facelifted Civic. So they need to clear the old stock. Reduce prices, clear stock, bring new model with facelift and maybe some other cosmetic accessory and jack up the price once again.

I must say their planning is commendable.

Call up your Honda dealer & check please. 250 maybe charged by a roadside painter but certainly not by a Honda dealer.

vid, do you seriously think a guy buying a Civic is going to care a damn about a 5K difference in price. I seriously doubt that Honda needs to pull such a gimmick to clear their stock !! Well they were already offering discounts and free insurance for 2007 models and I'm sure they would do the same for their old stocks, post release.

In that case then why reduce the price at all? If it really is not gonna make a difference.

Honda may as well have pocketed it. They will not gain sympathy from anyone by saying they reduced the price.

It's just like a drop from lake

Despite of City being 90% localised and Civic being 66% localised Honda cars already priced at premium

But one must also accept that they are way better than Hyundai in pricing their products, as Honda products are of better quality & reliability
