What is the current rate for Shell Diesel in Bangalore? The last time I checked couple of months back I think was around Rs.66, has that come down or still this high?

It is 70.80 as per shell India website. Snapshot here:

Also found the following uploaded on their website. Wondering why they would upload an internal circulation mail on public domain.

According to the chart posted by sandsun7, the Shell OMR pump in Chennai is back in business

Folks who use the OMR will now have the option to fill up at a world class pump which dispenses great quality and precise quantity of fuel with good service thrown in, sans the despicable tricks used by the nasty PSU pumps and their crooked staff.

There are some other shuttered Shell pumps in Chennai and I hope they also re-open soon - the one at Padi junction (in the service lane below the flyover), for instance. More Shell pumps means more smoother engines, less kerosene fumes in the city and somewhat happier car/bike owners. Bring it on, Shell!

I don't think the price at OMR will be lesser than other pumps in Chennai. Is there something wrong with the table?

They must be introductory prices. Or rather, re-introductory prices! These would be applicable for a short while, I guess

Excuse my silly question - by BSIII and BSIV you meant octane level of the fuel right? I rarely visit shell as it's not close by to me but as far as I remember they only have this regular and premium/ super terms used.

BS III & IV are regions based on emission norms. Inside city limits its BS IV and in smaller towns and outside city limits its BS III.

Thanks for the quick response! It does make sense. I got confused as generally the price difference I noticed is due to grade difference! It also makes sense to drive few more KMs to fill up at shell at these prices for at least now. I had stopped going to shell for the reason of distance as well as their inability to support Amex cards. It's only HP that supports those cards and with the kind if benefits you get, there is some definite expenditure needed for those cards. Fuel is one of those definite expenses for me

Sorry for OT.

I don't think the introductory prices have ever been actually true at the ground level. My last 3 tankfuls of Petrol at the Pune-Magarpatta pump have always been at the PMC - BS IV rates and not at the special rates mentioned for the magarpatta bunk that has recently reopened.

For instance, I tanked up my car with Petrol @ 81.90 / ltr today.

Just wrote to Shell to rectify the incorrect info on their page.

Shell OMR Chennai still continues the special price, which has been reduced to 74.44 (for normal P ). I thought the special price was only for October but the current price was updated yesterday.
