OK, I have been scouting a few "good' PSU bunks for the past 10 days by filling just one litre (reserve to reserve) for my Splendor. Found the Club HP and the BP bunks near airport Radisson hotel to be perfect. A litre of Power costs Rs 51.11 and provides the same mileage/pick-up/engine smoothness as Shell super (Rs 54.95). Normal petrol costs about Rs 49.60 Vs Rs 52.95 for Shell normal. I am off Shell for now.

An added advantage will be much fresher stocks. The crowd at Shell has thinned out and we may not get fresh petrol there.

Gansan,

On the contrary, the crowd is still the same at Shell here. I was at the bunk this morning at 6.15 am and there were around 5 cars in the bunk, together with a bus and a tractor. All this despite the price increase of 30ps over the PSUs.

Regards,
gpa

30 paise is as good as nothing. Here the difference is Rs 3.85 per litre of petrol.

Yes, I am also surprised to see good amount of crowds in every shell pumps. But most are on the regular petrol, even though the service guys keeps insisting on trying the super

I have stopped using normal unleaded years ago and am not sure of the price, so I qualified it as "about". But I am sure the difference between HP normal and HP Power will not be Rs 6.27 per litre.

esteem_lover, gansan figures may be true..

Have you filled petrol from the company pump on shanthi colony road near the Sundaram foundation? They are charging 48.something for the normal petrol.

Sorry, I stand corrected. I meant 48.84 not 44.84.

I just checked out of my window and could see the board of an adjoining BP bunk. Normal petrol is Rs 48.44 (or is it 48.54 - the decimals are not clear from the sixth floor) per litre. I stand corrected. That makes Shell normal (Rs 52.95) costlier by Rs 4.51 per litre. No wonder the crowds at Shell -nothing to write home about even earlier - have become thinner!

If thats the case I doubt you would feel happy in the next few months atleast Benji. Don't expect Shell Prices to come down any time near future.
