I agree, at 35L they are pretty much robbing you, that SUV is worth no more that 18L.

. the price comparisions in the Auto india arcticle states.

the CRV 2.0 with four wheel drive is priced at euro 27,400 (16.44 lacs), the base freelander 2.2 at euro 30,500 (18.3 lacs), the BMW X3 2.0 at euro 35,500 (21.3 lacs) and the freelander 2.5 (speculated car to be sold in India) at euro 42,450 (25.47 lacs).

the X3 is sold in India at Rs 41 lacs that is almost double the price of the car at factory. the Freelander 2.5 which is for Rs 25.47 lacs is going to be sold for 30lacs plus. they have not given a confirmed price for the car yet.

If they are going to charge 35 lacs, it'd better be the Land Rover LR2 (Discovery replacement). This vehicle could take some sales away from the Montero/Prado.

DO you mean the Disco 3? if yes then it is available at a price of 78 lacs onwards. so then again a 30 lac difference between the montero/ prado and the Disco 3.
if i am to believe right Tata is going to use the current dealer (Navneet motors) to import the cars as it is being done now. you can import any model through them.
