It would be logical to me if MUL discontinued the Estilo, and replaced it with the A-Star. That way, we have a proper pecking order in place for the hatches.

M800 < Alto < A-Star < Wagon-R/Splash < Swift

I have been waiting for A-Star for so long time now, if it is going to be priced more then 3.50L (base model) max then i will not be buying it and will go for i10 Kappa which is for 4Lahks with 15k discount they there giving here in Chandigarh.

I think you should wait to see the A-star pricing before drawing these equations.

The Estilo may not have been a success; but the word ZEN still has a high brand value and it would be good if Maruti can retain it in some form

Like i said, that was what i felt. If the A-Star which is an Alto to the rest of the world is priced even above the 'Zen', then it certainly calls for a relook at the pricing.

what we know for sure.
1) M800 will be history
2) estilo will be history
3) wagon R will be the future victim for sure
4) the current alto will continue and become next M800
5) splash will be priced at par with swift. swift is for young gen. splash would be targeted at a more mature costumers. anways splash will be very close.

what do you think guys?

I went to book for swift last week, and got to hear from the sales guy that maruthi will announce another 10k discount for swift this week, any confirmations?>

Down the line, I have to take a decision about the Ikon. Lets see what happens with that.
