This is the engine that will do duty on the Hyundai i10. This photograph of their diesel engine has been depicted in the i10 brochure (PDF format and approximately 20MB in size) that has been available on their Website at least since March’2008.

Yes, this has been around for some time. This is unit we expected on the Santro and now realistically to find itself in the i10. Just the ideal unit to give the favourite small car diesel king, Swift a kick. Bring it Hyundai.

maximum power at 6000 rpm! Well who needs a Petrol engine.

Maximum Torque being at 2000 rpm, it surely will be a locomotive from there till 6k.

Max power (75 PS) at 6000!

The what's the real power at regular RPM levels (2000 to 4000)???

This might get voted as the International Diesel Engine of the Year after the Fiat 1.3L Multi-jet

Default Amazing

Point 1 --> 1.1L engine generating the same power as the 1.3L Multi jet.

point 2--> Its a 1.1, so obviously will give more mileage than the 1.3 L

Point 3 --> VGT hopefully will not have turbo lag, i would have preferred the torque point at 1750 instead 2000

Point 4 --> If available in all variants, santro diesel GLS would be a lethal
model at 5 L

Point 5 --> Will easily beat the 1.3L Multi jet in Acceleration and Top speed, just because of power to weight ratio!

The sooner they bring it the better. Atleast the will be some serious competition to swift.

74bhp@6000rpm.
What is this ? A diesel race engine?
I wanna see the power and torque curves before I judge it more.

Yes, with the employment of a VGT. It may be worthwhile to note that the 1.3 MJD with VGT makes 90bhp.
