Default HM-Mitsubishi tops J.D. Power honours

A welcome change that needs to be acknowledged.
JD Power has rated Mitsubishi as the number 2 company in customer satisfaction with Maruti being No 1.

Yes. It is for 2008
In fact my experience with HM-Mitsubishi is good so far.
But I did not expect it be at 2nd place.

Folks, are we sure this wasnt "The Onion"s version of JD powers study?

in all seriousness I am surprised ford ranks so low and even where toyota is on the chart, a bit disappointing.

Good for HM-Mitsu. A much needed boost that can only improve their image. With the Outlander just launched and with the new Lancer on the anvil, this can definitely help.
Mitsu fans, Pls also go through this link - an interview with Mitsu MD,Product development on their plans in India

outlookbusiness.com : ?Now we will increase the number of models in India?

The interview, though, is not without some humour. I quote some bits.
Quote:
Are you satisfied with the sales of Mitsubishi cars in India?
It is not 100% satisfactory, but we can say it is just the beginning
("err, this has got to be the understatement of the century")

It’s been a decade since Mitsubishi came to India. Why has the company been slow in introducing new models in India?
Till now, we had been strategically focusing on North America, Russia and Middle-East. As we have established ourselves in these markets, now we will increase the number of models for India. Also, we always go by the consent of our partner here, Hindustan Motors. Our decisions should create a win-win situation for both. It is true that in the first seven years in India we were slow, but in the last three years, we have introduced three models and one variant
(" Wake up, fast pls. There is no shortage of Mitsu fans in this country. ")

Is an India production unit on the cards?
Our partnership with Hindustan Motors is just a decade old. It is been a good relationship, and we would like to strengthen it further.
(" Apart from a good relationship, pls ensure that HM gets a bit more proactive in sales"

Ford was No. 2 in 2006 and was somewhere in middle order in 2007 – now in the bottom
Honda was somewhere in middle in 2006, but No.2 in 2007 – now back to the middle
Mitsubishi was missing in 2006 & 2007 rankings – not sure why? However the position of Mitsu is a very welcome one.

And of course Maruti has been on the top consistently with an indomitable lead!

To me there are no surprises!

Actually, I'm surprised at HM-Mitsubishi's ranking. It certainly doesnt seem that high when you read about the ownership experiences of Mitsu owners here.

Its a shock to see that except maruti everybody else is below industry average and manufacturers should seriously take note of this.

Best thing to note is that apart from Maruti all companies rank below the average!!

And look where Toyota is, below Skoda?
