To answer all your queries the car was my dads official car and it use to travel daily to ropar from Chandigarh in the morning to drop my dad at the factory then use to come back do the usual pick and drop daily house work then use to go back to ropar in the afternoon with dads lunch then use to go to rajpura to pick my sister from college and after that it went to ropar again to pick dad so it's like 100km+50+45+90+100 daily even then new one does the same

Fantastic. That is getting absolutely awesome value for money. This is really how a car should be used.

One question: All this driving was done by a single driver?

Yes all the km have been logged by the same driver Vinod kumar. He wouldn't even let my dad drive the car
He loves the innova more than his wife.

2006 Innova didn't even have a single part repainted till the time we had it. Even the bumper was original and it was in showroom condition. We only sold it because we wanted the dual a/c one. This one was the g1 model now we have is the v one

One thing for sure the quality has come down over the years

Well, he has spent more time with the car than he has with his wife. It seems kind of obvious that he loves it more than her.

Jokes apart, but hats off to the guy. Fantastic driver!! He has has taken good care of your car and kept it incident free. Awesome. His worth is more than his weight in gold. Well, not at these prices but you get the gist

Please convey my regards and appreciation to Vinod Kumar.

Cheers!

Somehow I see the distance is squeezed to about 440 Km a day

Morning Factory drop - 100
Usual pickup & drop at house - 50
Afternoon Lunch at Factory - 100
Rajpura College - 90
Evening Factory Pickup - 100
Total = 440 Km

Continuing from the previous calculation...
# of days = 1826 & that INCLUDES Sundays (assuming you Dad doesn't go to Factory and HOPEFULLY the poor driver gets a day off to look after his Wife, though she might not be his beloved, but for the sake of law)...
1826 - 52 Sundays X 5 years = 260 = 1566 days & that makes...775000/1566 = 494 Km a day

Now, assuming colleges are closed on Saturday's, the car might not do the additional Km on Saturdays of 90 Km (which is excluding the study leaves) for which it MIGHT've compensated else where, so the number of days becomes...
1566 - 52 Saturdays X 5 years = 260 = 1306 days & that makes...775000/1306 = 593 Km a day!!!

Some food for thoughts...
- Single driver for all 5+ years without a break for every single day? India? Possible?
- Everyday factory routine with absolutely no breaks at all
- India & ASC, be it BMW, Audi, Benz, Honda or Harley, anyone for that matter sucks; highly unlike the market in the West. Wouldn't the vehicle, that too such highly clocking, stranded at ASC for more than a day awaiting spares in all the 152 services? Not even once?
- Barring MBBS (which includes house surgeon for last one year), which other education requires 5 years of education at college? Let's not talk about arrears here though
- All these huge ODO numbers in addition to other cars (not sure what will the other be used for)
- Where do I bridge the 593 Km & 440 Km now?

BTW, ku69rd, I only used calculator & notepad; excel would've yielded even stringent numbers

PS: The incident is of 2000 when scooter had a decent resale.

My father had bought Bajaj 150 for 2750 INR prior my birth. We sold her off after I grabbed my first job at 21 age. We sold her for 3000 Rs. Your are quite right. Talk about resale value.

Sorry offtopic here.
This is called inflation or "diminishing value of rupee". Assuming 5% inflation year on year 3000Rs at the time of sale is equivalent to 1100Rs at the time of your birth. So yeah it is a good deal since you got atleast 1/3rd the cost of the scooter after 21 years.
Ofcourse the tables turn when you look at actual cost of ownership which includes petrol and maintenance costs.

Morning ---------------SNIP----------bers

the numbers might have been a bit misread or quoted.
But to tell you the truth, the figures that have been put up, the daily Ropar and all, I am sure it still will turn out to be the most driven personal innova on TBHP.

Coming back to the original question:

All my company cars tended to get changed out by the lease company around the 130.000 kilometers.

On my own cars things are a bit different; I never ever buy anything with less than 100.000 kilometer on the odometer.
Bought my Jaguar with about 150.000 km on the odometer and now around 220.000 km.
Bought my Mercedes at 130.000km and now around 170.000km
Bought my AlfaRomeo at 165.000km and now around 240.000km
Bought my Cherokee at 260.000km and sold it last year at around 300.000km.
Few months ago bought my wife a Ford Fiesta at just under 100K. That should do another 100k easily.

The engine was rebuilt at 200,000 kms ,not sure what all was done precisely but it was all done by an Englishman who was truly an expert and had a nickname of dieseldude.
all that has to be done is regular oil change and she is used to synthetic oil and i keep changing it after every 100 00 kms. There has just been an odd leakage of clutch oil draining from the clutch pedal area lately, but i just top it up every 500 kms , havent been able to find the time to get it sorted out . Yes the clutch is hard but i am used to it now and am very happy with he beast.

There is no need to bridge them.

Manikjeet said his car has done 7.75 lakhs kms and that should be the end of it. He has been sweet enough to answer the questions put to him but throwing figures at him and asking him to reconcile them is asking for a bit too much. If you do not want to believe him, that is up to you but as far as I am concerned, he is not answerable to anyone.

Cheers!
