Linea wait period is already 1 month, I took TD @ B U Bhnadari, Pune today afternoon. They have more than 60 bookings already (for both diesel and petrol) and yes FIAT has indeed detuned MJD engine to 86bhp...lets see how much FE it returns.
AND GUESS WHAT..the lady @ showroom told me that E+ will cost 8.6 OTR in pune...of course i dont believe it
But while I was there I saw atleast 2 bookings being made and there were atleast 8-9 guys waiting for TD...
FIAT has created history it seems

Default Fiat Linea Prices

Hey All,
Just checked the Fiat India website and the prices have been updated for the Linea. Heres the link: Fiat India
In the site the prices are mentioned for all the petrol models but only the Active model prices for the diesel one.

So eventually the diesel engine develops 84.2 bhp, less than what was told as 90bhp. ACI did the so called exclusive test with 90bhp engine, so I expect the performance figures to change a bit.
FPS = Fire Prevention System, that will cut off the fuel in case of a crash being detected, but this is not exactly prevention, IMO.
Overall an even more weaker package becasue of engines. All other features are nice, but I seriously doubt that this wont be a real challanger to G3HC. I hope they are able to sustain some volumes of Linea.

Linea does have turbo lag and MJD is really underpowered...and thats its achillies heel
Even torque seems to be less than the international spec

Lets not jump the gun so fast. I don't think Fiat detuned the engines in such a short time span (after the agazine tests). The engine in the test cars was most likely the same, just that when it was finally tested for certification, it churned out 85 ps, as compared to the 90 ps they manage on the european spec.

I'm pretty sure the car was tested in the same state of tune as wat will be offered to customers to buy.

Probably means Fiat has caliberated the ECU in this way keeping in mind mileage and fuel conditions in India.

203Nm @ 2500rpm.....what are these guys thinking???
what happened to "peak torque starting @ 1750rpm" statements as reported originally? This is like going backwards

Man, when you drive the car, you feel the lack of torque @ lower rpm. Its like driving old indigo :(
wish they had tuned the engine for peak torque @ 1750rpm

FIAT can be forgiven only if MJD returns excellent FE...may be in excess of 18 overall. BTW the lady @ showroom told me FE(overall) as 20..which is hard to believe
