There is one on MG road and also one near Cauvery theater(both HP). But I doubt if they'll be open tonight.

Most pumps had less stocks as they anticipated a fuel price cut. The truckers strike aggravated this problem, and now this oil companies strike will make matters worse

I filled up @ shell outlet in Velachery-Tambaram road. It was so chaotic, took me more than a hour to get my tank filled. Vehicles were lining outside the gas station causing a severe traffic jam. But no police around to regulate traffic.

Well said Parm. Hopefully government will take a tough stance now and bring in the essential service act against the truck owners and especially the union leaders who come up with all impractical demands.

its an open invitation to create public unrest in india and oppurtunity for terrorists to strike again at this moment of public anger.

trucks on strike
oil companies on strike
sail, gail, ntpc etc to support the oil strike
2 thermal power plans shut in capital
confusion at petrol pumps

.....hope govt takes care of it all!

praying and hoping for the best!

Consumerism my friend. The scene reminds me of the oil crisis of the USA, although less grave in nature.
Guess we should not give into the demands of the employees, because today the companies are making marginal profits, tomorrow when there are losses, which they will in due course of time. Will they let go off their salaries ?
Inflation is not fueled by the folks in the private sector, like it happened in early 90s but by the Public sector.

PS- 6th pay commission was announced just recently.

The shortage was evident yesterday (Wednesday) itself. The BP bunk opposite Manipal Hospital went dry. That's one of the few 24hr bunks this side of town. Since the HP on Airport road is not to be trusted, I went to the BP bunk in Jeevan Bhima Nagar. He said stocks are running low and might run out by the next day.

Thankfully both my cars and bike are stocked up and should hold for the next few weeks if need be.

Yes low inventory has aggravated the situation. Well one of the truckers demand was lower diesel prices which I think would happen by next week.

I think by tomorrow evening every thing will become normal. We are just taking un-necessary panic.
