Swift, Fabia, I20 are all front disc and rear drum format brakes.
For the latest addition to small car market, I20:

Fabia :

Edit :
Its a nice question. I have also never given it a thought. All the cars including Optra SR-V come with front/rear brakes as Disc/Drum brakes.
Almost all the hatchbacks I have googled out come with front disc and rear drum brakes.

its due to the cost and i guess for smaller cars and their power outputs front disc & rear drum is enough

I believe the Fabia vRS (or whatever the badging is) has four wheel discs. Maybe they'll release it here to clear their 1.9 TDI engine inventories.

i20 should have had it. Damn! It has everything else

But yes, I think atleast the ABS version cars should have Disc brakes in the rear.

What do you drive?
How often do you check the condition of your 4 brakes and fluid?
Have you used performance brake pads?

hi,

possibly the Grande' Punto once they launch it, if Abarth helps it then 100% all wheels would get disc brakes.

European counterparts of hatchbacks doing duty in India like SWIFT/i20 come with 4 disc brakes. Indian customers are more cost sensitive, so i guess the first cost cutting axe is on rear disc brakes as it also reduces the PCD.
I wish Honda JAZZ/FIT comes with all round discs... atleast to break the ice !

A Punto Abarth would probably cost more than a Civic here. No way they're gonna launch it in India where most customers only care about size and status.

But if they do launch it, I would buy one with my eyes closed!

Did research....
I don't think no Hatch has all disc in India.
No all disc in B and C segment also.
Only Cedia has all disc brakes in C+ segment.
All cars in D segment has all disc.
