Joslicx, what point are you trying to get across?

Linea was officially launched on 14-Jan, though some of the dealers took the Bookings from December itself.

My point would be that Linea is NOT a competitor to ANHC! Its not in the same class. Linea is a competitor to SX4/Fiesta/Vernas of the world. ANHC still has no competition. People are welcome to disagree.

And the thing about Linea launch is just in light jest. I am really aghast the it is Car of the Year when it wasnt (as you say) even launched in 2008!!!

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it.

Fiat has pitted Linea against the ANHC.
Anyway, the market will decide which is a better buy!

Ahh, you still can't get out that COTY thing!
Don't worry, your favourite ANHC is the ICOTY.

Wrong. Fiat (by dimensions) has pitted Linea against Civic/Corolla territory. But market (by price) has pitted it against SX4/Aveo/Fieata/Verna territory.

Beating around the same bush? The truth is Linea made a backdoor entry to COTY nominations.

Is that why Honda had to respond to the Linea Ad"miration"???

Saw a couple of Fiat Lineas on the road in the last 3-4 days.

Black and Metallic Red.

From ourside they seemed to look better than all the others cars mentioned on this thread.

Just thought I should point out that i did see a few on the road, since everyone keeps on talking about them not being visible.

@Amit- Hilarious comment. I can sense the sarcasm in all the ones you have made recently regarding Honda and somehow i like them
@joslicx- Well this is news to me that Linea is not competiting with ANHC!
The whole world thinks otherwise and as Suman pointed the Honda ADMIRATION ad also points towards that. Yes SX4/Verna/ Fiesta are also there in competition as all these are C segment cars. Now don't tell me ANHC is a D segment car and cant be competed with all these

@ACM- waiting to see one Linea on road and am still not lucky!
Though quiet a few ANHC's on road i had seen which clearly suggests despit of overpricing the car and freaky high accessories cost Honda badge is doing its magic.

ANHC in Executive (D) segment? . I thought it was a proper Mid-size (C) segment car. On the contrary, it is Linea which is a D segment car. And as per Jan 09 sales, Linea is in fact market leader in that segment

You dont get it, do you?

All Fiats are better than all other cars in all segments regardless of where they are priced. The Palio was considered better than everything from the M800 to the Merc C Class.

Similarly the Linea is better than everything from the Maruti Esteem to the 7 Series.

These are certain fundamental truths that are not open to any questioning. So if someone wants to compare the Linea with the City, there is nothing wrong with it. If the same person wants to compare the Linea with the Fiesta/SX4, there is still nothing wrong with it.

The Linea is competition for everything on wheels with a boot, just as the Palio was competition for everything on wheels with a hatch (and then some).

Once you have realized this, thy kingdom hath come!

@joslicx - despite what you think, most people here would believe that SX4,Verna,ANHC are in the same class. You can say ANHC is better, but sayings its in a different class is too strong a statement. All of them belong to the mid-size Sedan segment.

And that you don't see Linea's on road is hardly a reason to say Linea's don't sell. We have a fairly good knowledge of how much each cars sell per month courtesy Vasudeva.

Blind 'Honda' slavery! If City is not in the segment of Linea, in which hell it belongs? Pricing an average car (not only City) at rocket high prices will make it in a new class?

I have no idea about Linea sales, but the fact is I am yet to see a SINGLE Linea on Chennai roads. Ofcourse this does not mean no one is buying it, but I wonder if so many are selling, how come we don't see it on the roads ?

We had this same debate when Verna was released. Sales figures indicated good sales, but we could not see enough Vernas on the road that would match the sales figures. With the Verna atleast you could say that it does not really stand out in a crowd, but the Linea with its looks should be able to stand out, right ?

Maybe orders are being taken for Linea and customers are still waiting for delivery, which might explain why we don't see it on the roads. I think there is another thread just for the long waiting period of Linea.
