with the launch of the aria, i hope M&M comes up with something real good (good on looks, features, space & price) or else it can just watch tata snatching all its sales.

I beg your pardon - M&M has the bolero for numbers. A powerful word-of-mouth reputation which is hard to break even if the vehicle is not really up to the mark. The segment the Aria is launched in does not have such numbers. It will take another segment buster from Tata
to come up to that.The Aria is meant to compete right from the Xylo through to the CR-V(and that includes the Endy, Fortuner , Captiva also) hopefully on VFM.

and looking at the spy pics of mahindra's new SUV, i feel even that vehicle will be priced upwards of 12 lakhs, so its a direct competitor to the aria, hence my comment above.

One of the auto magazine has published a picture of the 'Mahindra World SUV'. It looks to be of the size of a Montero (most likely has 3 rows of seats) and in the picture it does look like a world class product.
I will try to scan the picture and post it.

PS:However I don't rule out the possibility that it could be simply an 'artists impression'

Hey, Aria is not actually a direct rival to upcoming M&M SUV!
They're altogether different. Aria is a crossover where as the Mahindra world car is a complete SUV.

Raj - if that meant sales in the Ariia/Mahindra new SUV segment, then ignore my post.But I don't feel the aria , even base variants will be launched below 10 lakhs. Although if Tata does it will change the market dynamics.

Yes, Tata still needs to build a reputation - or make that a market perception. The market has still not been kind enough to Tata. My post meant the Mahindra Bolero/Scorpio sales which is a multiple of Tata UV sales.

Anyways , lets see how the competition goes . Personally, I prefer
Tata vehicles which are better put together and are easier on the eye. Hence wish Tata will win this battle at least.

but then the market has not been kind to tata & nobody else but tata is to be blamed. part of the reason why the scorpio sells so much is because SUV customers dont want a tata product! reasons are many.

even i loved the aria at first look but then some pics & interior shots later, i was a bit disappointed honestly.
