If the rendering in the Autocar India is actually the Global SUV for Mahindra, then the future is looking as bright as ever for the company. I was really worried that they would make a big mess of that front end, going by their recent designs (Scorpio Refresh, Xylo, Gio).

But this seems to be very smartly designed and also incorporates regular Mahindra fixtures like seven horizontal slats in grille and that chrome rabbit tooth (for the first time ever, its actually looking good in this vehicle).

Why some say this rendering is a PS job is that, it has a seen it before somewhere.....but........., air about it.

Now, if the production vehicle does look like the one in teh rendering then there is not much room for blame game on the styling front, I dare say.

@ Trinadha, nope, that's definitely the new Mahindra.

The car looks very good and should stand out in its present ugly line up. Mahindra have worked hard on this cars looks this time and it looks like its worked. The only issue I have is the interiors which not only looks circa late 90s, but very very tacky only highlighted by the poo brown colour theme. I pray this is only an issue with the prototypes and the execution of the actual cars are much better.

Incidentally SsangYong, a beleaguered Korean car maker in which M&M is planning to take a controlling stake by the first '11 quarter, is also about to launch its first monoqocue car, Korando. This car has an est. UK price of GBP 17.5k (despite the high UK taxes/duties) which translates to less than 12.5 lacs. Considering it should only get cheaper if locally assembled.

I have a serious doubt if there are more similarities in these cars than what meets the eye. If not its a terrible waste of two models that simply overlap each other.

What is your take on it, did it look butch enough, the rendering in Mahindra Blog site doesnt look that butch but the actual photo in red with blue camouflage looks pretty good

@jeepster:

Good think you avoided buying the magazine. The info on W201 is pure speculation in ACI. This forum has more information on the W201.

Is this really the W201? Looks smaller and looks more likely to be the mini Xylo that has been spotted testing as well.

+1 to that, it does not seems much bigger & wider than the Logan in one of the pictures. This could be something else, but, the W201.
