Are you sure about this? Looking at that tweet, I am under the impression that he is answering in the affirmative for the question about whether the competition is open for US folks or not.

I am quoting the tweet here,

"Yes it is..“@dragupta:my guess is sept 2, 2011. You did not answer whether this was open to people outside India. I am in the US”

If it is really Sep 2nd, good for us.

Looks like they are going to put a horizontal chrome strip there at the bottom. Looks better comparing to other Mahindra vehicle front grill

looks much better than any previous M&M vehicle based just on the covered front view snaps. Sep 2 would be a day to watch if this indeed is launched then. The colour too looked good. The earlier snaps had a few wierd bits on the bumper, that is hidden here, so we need to see it that gets better.

Update:: Sorry guys !! I was too excited to interpret the comment from Anand Mahindra in a different way !

The confirmation is still NOT ON ! Looks like we will need to wait for some more time to get any news on this front!

This is a good looking car(from the spyshots-not the render above). I think its the most contemporary looking car to come out of any Indian manufacturer. Good job Mahindra.
The grill needs to be fixed but otherwise,I like the front end. I think those back tapes are hiding LED fog lamps( a la Q7). From profile/rear shots, the proportions are pretty good.
I can see why many people are upset-because it doesnt look like an "SUV". Its not. Its a cross over. And a very modern (looking atleast) one.
