Cool Honda to raise car prices, and Jazz launch soon. EDIT : Jazz spotted testing on pg.14

Hey Guys,
I spotted a Honda Jazz in delhi.
Around 1:55 pm, while travelling from Safdurjung Airport to South Ex. i saw a car looking very familiar from distance, when i got close, i could read 'JAZZ' in big bold letters. There was no disguise treatment given to the car.It had a red license plate with UP registration. It was being driven by an indian gentelmen at a very steady speed (read 40 km/h). I was unable to click front end pictures. The on road presence of the car was really nice, but could have been better in another colour, i think.
Let the pics do the talking.

I'll hold judgement till seeing it in the flesh, but the first impression is weird. No doubt it is large though. Just compare the side profile to that of the Swift in the last picture.

Launch is next month with prices expected to start @ 6.2 Lakhs.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Even the swift looks a little stretched !
Looks like a mini van. But since I have driven the Fit in U.S, it should look a little bulbous unlike the picture.

Can we say a shrunk innova. The interiors should be nice from the current honda trend.Must be loads of space seeing the side profile and rear.Huge front quarter glass too and it almost reaches the head lamps. That means a very small engine bay and accesiblity would be a tough thing in the engine bay.
Any ways competetion is growing,

From these pics one gets a perspective of its size, which is larger than I thought. Seems the perfect car for yuppy mums. Space is going to be its main selling point, that will be unique for its segment.

7 Lakhs..!!, this pricing seems to be insane, this is even more expensive then the Overpriced Fabia.

But lets wait for the car to be launched, lets wait & watch how Honda justifies the price tag..!!

Jazz will sport a specially-tailored 1200cc VTEC petrol engine and will be the most expensive hatch in India. Honda will offer the car with features like airbag, ABS (anti-lock braking system) and G-CON Technology (an advanced passive shielding that offers the occupant a survival zone in case of an unavoidable collision).

Jazz @ 7 L, I think it is a marketing strategy by Honda. Jazz would still rollout at about 6-6.2 exshowroom delhi and Honda will claim that they have priced it lower then the market expectations (While the truth is it will still be about 70-80K expensive than I20 & Fabia petrol). Honda fans would go ga-ga and lap it up then.
