Sure looks like it doesn't it? But the real deal is that people have put the Accord's 2.4L motor into that engine bay. All that needed fabrication was the gear shifter box.

At 7L, the Jazz has got acres of space, brilliant iVtec engine, all safety features and loads of goodies. And since it's a Honda, no doubt it'll sell in good numbers. The only thing that is to be seen is whether Honda is gonna do some cost-cutting in the Jazz too like it did in the City? the interior quality of the City is pathetic.I just hope Honda doesn't make the same mistake with the Jazz.
June 10th is the date of the launch.Eagerly waiting!

ET says that "Honda to launch Jazz in June at Rs 5.5 lakh onwards"
and after week TOI says "Honda to roll out Jazz with Rs 7 lakh tag"

Since everyone is making guesses out here, lemme try as well: The base model (which would have ABS+Airbags) would be priced about 40-50K more than the i20 Asta.

The 7 Lakh price tag seems like a possiblity. The Honda CEO already said that Jazz will sell in fewer numbers then City which will be their bread and butter model.

I have one question for Honda though. Aren't they going to get excise benefits by giving us a 1.2L engine? Isnt it clear that at 7 lakhs they will not pass on the benefit to customers and would rather prefer to conviniently pocket it?

My optimistic guess is that the top-end model with Auto-tran will be around 7 lac.

If I read it right, it is 7L ex-showroom in Delhi. This would imply around 7.3L ex-showroom in Bangalore to account for freight and higher taxes. That would mean OTR price of nearly 8.6L. Common Indian brain will think, pay a lakh more and get a NHC. I get the snob value of a Honda, plus a sedan too.

I really doubt if the folks at Honda are so dumb to price it at this level.

I read about the 7L pricing in the Google News Business section and literally fell off my chair. Are Honda out of their mind?

Anyway, it looks like sheer speculation on their part, hopefully all will be revealed soon.

I think the marketing aspect is that Indians are going to think "why buy hatch when we can buy honda city for 2L more!" which means more numbers for the city

I think the car is like a mini-mini-van and seems to have lots of space, I think that is what the Indian family and road needs, but at 7L it's a scam

Since SPACE is the selling point, lets look at options near 7L...Xylo

Fiat needs to advertise the GP more publicly, people need to be informed that the GP is coming before they start to go all ga ga over the jazz

It IS a very tempting car to look at; looks much bigger than all hatchbacks around. Think SR-V sizes, MUV shape, and sharp lines. Very modern-looking.

I may be wrong here. But this car is nothing but a old NHC without boot.

Did Honda say that they will launch the Jazz just below 7lac or is it TOI saying that it will launched just below 7 lacs , because the same ET told a couple weeks back that it will launched in the range of 5.5 lac right ?
