i got that car it is definately not the new Skoda Octavia but the Skoda fabia.

2005 Skoda Octavia

Spy shot photo

2005 Skoda Fabia

and the biggest clues is the fuel lid.see this on 2005 Octavia.

the taillights edge also dois not match with the round visible edge in the spy pic.if it was octavia then the left end of the tail light must not be visible.belive me i am sure it is the fabia 3-box version that Skoda was going to launch in mid-2005.i think they have changed the rear bumper(made it taller) and taillight design a bit for india.

Not a new Sonata or a Civic, that's for sure!

All RHD Octavias seem to have the lid on the right, and vice-versa. So my vote goes to the new Skoda Octavia.

The hatchback you saw could be the Toyota Yaris. Atleast two have been spotted in Bangalore.

Only if Skoda comes out with some agressive pricing. In all the reviews I have read....the expected price was mentioned as 8.0-8.5 Lacs...at that price the Fabia would not really trouble City.....

Hey team there still are some small things that indicate it to be the Octy than the fabia. Look at the door handles, in boh the pics that guzzler and merve posted, the Fabia shows black door handles. Also the boot top resembles the golden octy pic. But am not sure now

I wish it happensooner than later , but it may take time for people to get used to the design of the fabia .

p.s If the NHC's design can be a hit in india , i dont see any reason why fabia can't be a smash hit , but ya all depends on the pricing .

what the door handles?they come in body color in to versions.also see the shape of the Furl lid.it cannot be an octy.the rear lights are simply not similar.and also were is the sharp ridge on the side.to remove that one will have to condiderably change the dies.if u see very minutely even the door in new octavia is not flared as with the one in the picture.the tires also seem too small and skiny for the octavia.the picture is take from the rear quater hence it looks big.

anyways only time will tell.

Merve, you did an extremely good analysis, but look closely at the angle of the rear windsheild. Its extremely raked in the cammo car but much more upright in the Fabia sedan. Therefore the cammo car is NOT the Fabia sedan.

It looks more like the 2005 Skoda Octy. But the fuel-lid on the left side says a different story altogether......

Notice the tail-lamp cluster. In the spy pic it ends way before the bumper. Now compare the Octavia with the Fabia pic. The Fabia tail-lamp cluster ends where the bumper begins, while the Octy doesn't.

Also the spy pic, as MPower mentioned shows the windshield to be more raked, which isn't the case in the Fabia.

Looks like the A5 Octy to me.
